My dreamStudents, guests , teachers and Honorable Judges Good morning ! my great pleasure to share my dream with you today. my dream is to become a teacher. As the whole world has its boundaries, limits and freedom coexist in our life. I dont expect complete freedom, which is impossible. I simply have a dream that supports my life. I dream that one day, I could escape from the deep sea of thick schoolbooks and lead my own life. With my favorite fictions, I lie freely on the green grass, smelling the spring, listening to the wind singing, breathing the fresh and cool air and dissolve my soul in nature at last. Simple and short enjoyment can bring me great satisfaction. I dream that one day the adults could throw their prejudice of comic and cartoon away. They could keep a lovely heart that can share sorrow and happiness with us while watching cartoon or doing personal things. Thats the real communication of heart to heart. I have the belief that my dreams should come true. I am looking forward to some day coming when I am like a proud eagle, which flies to the blue and vast sky. I am a Chinese 我是中国人Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I am Chinese. I am proud of being a Chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. Ive learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. Ive learned about the Great Wall and the Yangtze River. Ive learned about Zhang Heng(张衡)and Ive learned about Zheng He(郑和)Who says the Yellow River Civilization has vanished(消失)？I know that my ancestors have made miracles(奇迹)on this fertile land and were still making miracles. Who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our GNP ranks No. 7 in the world? We have experienced the plunders (掠夺) by other nations, and we have experienced the war. Yet, based on such ruins, there still stands our nation-China, unyielding and unconquerable!I once came across an American tourist. She said, “China has a history of five thousand years, but the US only has a history of 200 years. Five thousand years ago, China took the lead in the world, and now it is the US that is leading.”My heart was deeply touched by these words. It is true that were still a developing nation, but it doesnt mean that we can despise (鄙视) ourselves. We have such a long-standing history, we have such abundant resources, we have such intelligent and diligent people, and we have enough to be proud of. We have reasons to say proudly： we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again, for our problems are big, but our ambition (雄心) is even bigger, our challenges (挑战) are great, but our will is even greater. I am Chinese. I have inherited (继承) black hair and black eyes. I have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. I have also taken over responsibility. Ill never forget those days I sat front of the TV, moved by people never gave up under ruins even theres little hope to survive. Ill never forget those days most newspapers and websites were all in black and white. Ill never forget those days I had my black coat on, writing down my best wishes to the suffering people. At the same time, I also remember those days my friends abroad told me that they joined in the protest against western worlds bias on China and the fight against the Tibetan separatists. I can still remember the day when I went to see the torch relay at Hangzhou with heart shaped stickers on cheek. I wore the T-shirt with words Light the Passion, Light the Dream . When the torch passed by, we cheered Go China, Go Beijing, sang the national anthem again and again, waving flags, dancing, hugging, clapping. It was the opening ceremony of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games which shocked the whole world and told the entire human Yes, we can.
