Introduce the sound / ow/2. Play the tape and have the children say the words aloud .3. Check the childrens pronrnciation by asking individual children to repeat the wordsStep 3. Listen for sounds1. Look at the middle of the age . Point to the first row of pictures .Tell the children that three of the words have an /ow /sound in them but one word doesnt .2. Play the tape and have the children point to the picture illustrating a word with an /ow / sound as they hear the word .3. Play the tape and have the children cross the word that doesnt have the /ow/ sound .Step 4. Read with Uncle Booky1 . Turn to page 8, look at the two rows of words at the bottom .2 . Point to the first three words .3. Listen and point to the first two words .4. Repeat the procedure for the other words5. Practice in pairs.Step 5 Model the structures.1. Open the book at page 4.Ask , “Whats this ?” Elicit “Its a diary .”2. Point to each of the days of the week in turn and have the children read out the names.3. T: Which days do they go to school ? Elicit the names :Monday ,Tuesday ,Wednesday ,Thursday ,and Friday .4. Repeat the procedure with other profession words .5. Read the sentences after teacher.What do you do on Tuesday ?We go to school .What do they do on Thursday ?They go to school .What does he do on Monday ?He goes to school .Step6 Uncle Bookys Blackboard1. Have the children open their books at page 9 .Model the structures on Uncle Bookys Blackboard by reading them aloud to the class.2. Repeat the structures in a class drill.
