Language points and focus:1) Words:Get on with, relation, communication, argue, cloud, elder, instead, whatever, nervous, offer, proper, secondly, communicate, explain, clear2) Sentences:When they argue,its like a big ,black cloud hanging over my head.You should explain that you dont mind him watching TV all the time.重点难点1.To improve the reading skills.2.To learn how to communicate with others.教学过程:Step1 Greeting and reviewingT:Good morning,class!Ss:Good morning,Miss Man!Weve learned some phrases last class.Can you say them out?Lets have a try :too much/too many, enough sleep, allow sb. to do sth. ,get into fight with, call up, so that, be good at, on the phone, be angry with, work outWhy dont you .? Whats wrong?Step 2.LeadinLead in by asking questions:Do you have any problems in your life? Do you get along well with your family? If you have problems, what should you do?Who would you like to talk with?Discuss these questions with your partner.Talk about the popular comedy Home With Kids. At the same time learn some new words in the lesson.设计意图:通过讨论自己的事情,活跃学生的思维,为下一步的阅读及对话练习做好铺垫,并联系自己的问题,看这封信能否有帮助。Step3 Reading1. Read the passage in 3a silently and as quickly as you can to catch the main meaning. Answer the questions:Whats the students problem? Whats Roberts advice?设计意图:训练学生集中精力快速阅读,敏锐捕获信息的能力-跳读的能力。此环节设计简单,目的是让学生树立信心。2. Read the passage carefully and silently to find the specific ideas.Complete the chart in 3a.3. Discussion.Do you agree or disagree with Mr Hunts advice?And why? Talk about it in your group.4. We usually meet some new words in the reading.If the new words dont affect us to catch the main idea of the article,we can ignore them and go on our reading.If these words are important for catching the main idea of the article,we should guess their meanings in the context in order to catch the main idea of the article. Now lets read the letters carefully again.Which words or phrases in the letters have the same or similar meanings as the following in 3c? Write a sentence using each word or phrase. (Show the Chinese meanings and the phonetic symbols of the new words on the PPT.)5. Read aloud. First let them pronounce the new words aloud according to the phonetic symbols by themselves, then check their pronunciation,and offer help if necessary.Finally let them read aloud the passage,and try to retell it.设计意图:让学生学会用音标读单词,学会自学,这样为他们的终身学习奠定基础。6. Fill in the blanks according to the two letters.设计意图:除检查对短文的掌握,鼓励学生有目地的阅读 培养学生的表达能力外,还为下一步引出动词不定式做铺垫。Step 4 ListeningListen to the letters and complete the chart.This task can train students listening skill.At the same time it can check if the students master the words and the phrases.Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks.1.
