strong smells sounded like the instruments that are made of metal.15. studying taste this time, the team ordered some special toffee(太妃糖) and put together “soundscapes” corresponding to bitterness and sweet-ness. participants tasted similar pieces of toffee while listening to each soundscape(声景观), and found the toffee more bitter or sweeter, depending on which soundtrack they were listening to.a.originally, they only intended to measure how olfactory tubercle cells in mice responded to smell.b.further research found that listening to different sounds can change your perceptions(知觉).c.could we see musicians work together with chefs to produce sound-improved food and drink? d.some cells even behaved differently when smell and sound were presented together, by increasing or decreasing their activity.e.most evidence for cross-modal perception comes from studies into sound and vision(视觉).f.participants were asked to sniff the drinks, and then match them to appropriate musical instruments and produce the notes at different levels.dwe lived in the world full of colors. does a color have weight? if you say “no”, you are wrong. if you dont believe, you may do an experiment(实验).first, put two objects with the same weight into two boxes. then cover the boxes. third, wrap(卷) one box with a red piece of paper, the other with a white piece of paper. 16. it is certain that you think the red one is a little heavier.why? a scientist found that different colors have different weight in a mans mind. so he did many tests and at last he found that every color has its own weight in our mind. 17. the heaviest color is red, then blue, green, orange, yellow and white.the scientist told us that colors also have smell. can you smell the color? of course not. 18. that is because every color stands for a kind of light with a certain wave length(波长), and it reaches our brain through sense organs(器官).according to this discovery, scientists say that people accept the colors they like, and refuse the colors they
