Wine choice reveals your personality. New research by scientists in Australia and Britain showed that drinkers who preferred a sweet taste in wine were more likely to be impulsive(冲动的) while those who chose dry varieties had greater openness and patience.“People with a sweet taste preference are more likely to get angry than those who .” Anthony J. Saliba, an Australian researcher said in his report. Saliba and Kate Wragg and Paul Richardson, of Sheffield Hallam University in Sheffield, England, said apart from impulsiveness and openness, no other personality was significantly different between the two groups.“There is some support for the view that sweet preference develops early in humans and thus could drive the development of impulsiveness.” said Saliba and other researchers, who reported the finding in the journal Food Quality and Preference. They tested the wine preference of 45 people from Sheffield in South Yorkshire and divided them into two groups - those who liked sweet wine and those who preferred dry wine. Each group was also given personality tests to evaluate (评估) their impulsiveness and openness. It is discovered by the researchers that a preference for sweet tastes changes as the participants grow. It seems to be the strongest during childhood and then declines (下降) when they become adults. Yet the strong influence caused by this preference for sweet wine continues while they are growing older and older. On the other hand, those who prefer dry wine grow up to be opener and this also continues in their later life. No other differences in personalities were found during their test.1.
