Module 6 Old and New in Book III- Reading and Vocabulary Hello, everyone! Welcome to my presentation. My name is Kangjian and I am from Lezhi Middle School. The lecture note I am going to talk about is for Reading and Vocabulary, Module 6 Old and New in Book III . (Ill explain my lesson notes) from the following aspects:一、Analysis of the teaching contents in this module.二、Teaching Plan in this module三、Teaching plan for Book3 Module6 Reading and VocabularyThe teaching plan consists of seven parts:I. Analysis of the teaching material ,this part includes Teaching Aims and Demands;Knowledge goals: Reading skills ; Cultural Awareness ; Affection and AttitudesLearning StrategiesII. Analysis of the students. Analysis of the teaching methods. Analysis of the learning approachV. The teaching proceduresVI. Blackboard design.Evaluation and Reflection Ill explain how to teach and why do so about my lesson notes in detailsAspect1 Analysis of the teaching contents in this module.Many famous Architectures in this module are introduced, especially, The Three Gorges Dam, students can know more about the benefits, such as changes in the environment or economy from these famous Architectures in China or all over the world . Finally, help students form positive attitudes toward the development of our country.Aspect2 Teaching Plan in this moduleAccording to the the Principle of Inputting information in the beginning and Outputting information in the end in the new curriculum, I have divided this module into six periods belowPeriod 1: Introduction + Function and Everyday English+ SpeakingPeriod 2: Reading and VocabularyPeriod 3: Grammar 1 & Grammar 2Period 4: Listening and PronunciationPeriod 5: Cultural Corner + Task + WritingPeriod 6: Module fileAspect3 Teaching plan for Book3 Module6 Reading and VocabularyPart. Analysis of the teaching materialModule 6 is about the introduction of some famous constructions such as The Great Wall of China; Hong Kong International Airport ; The Three Gorges Dam . I prepare the whole module in this way:This period -reading and Vocabulary is in the second period of this module. Its a reading comprehension text for the ss to learn something about the Three Gorges Dam in our country. At the same time, through some reading activities, their reading skills such as predicting, skimming, scanning, guessing and realizing can also be developed. This lesson is very important for the students to learn Chinese culture and improve the students awareness of loving own hometown.Teaching Aims and DemandsNO.1 Knowledge goals: (Ask ss to grasp new words and expressions in the text:)construction ; relic; generate; harness; historical; narrow; poem; submerge; dream of come true; hold back; live a(n)life; be equal to;The dam is nearly 200 meters high and 1.5 kilometers wide.Some of them are being removed and being put into museums.NO.2 Reading skills1). To get the main idea of the text.2). To learn about advantages and disadvantages of the Three Gorges Dam.3). To learn to read with strategies.NO.3 Cultural Awareness1). To help the ss learn about famous Architectures and many changes taking place in China.2). To broaden the students mind and enhance the responsibilities of development in modern time.NO.4 Affection and AttitudesTo form positive attitudes toward the development of our country.NO.5 Learning Strategies1). To learn to get certain information and cope with the effective information 2). To learn to predict the plotPartII. Analysis of the studentsNO.1. The Ss have known something about some famous Chinese constructions and background of the reading through last period-Introduction , Function and Everyday English and SpeakingNO.2. They are lack of vocabulary, but they are asked to preview the new words with the help of the dictionary3). They dont often use English to express themselves and communicate with others.4). Some Ss are not active in class, because they are afraid of making mistakes.PartIII Analysis of the teaching methodsNO.1. The new curriculum emphasizes the principle of taking the students as the host and the teacher subordinate and advocates the cooperative learning, task-based learning, communicative learning. Therefore, Ill create as many chances as possible to make my students participate in ways of student-centered; task-based - questions and answers, double activities teaching method group discussion and pair work Free discussion method and search for and exchange information.NO.2. The theories of the second language acquisitionNO.3. Teaching tools: Multimedia facilities; Mp3. a recorderPart. Analysis of the learning approachInterest is the best teacher. But with the heavy study burden and impact of the traditional spoon-feeding teaching, sometimes the students may lose the interest in learning and are not independent enough. So how to motivate them, develop their interest and build up their self-study ability are the first things I am considering I request the students to study English independently, cooperatively . Group works can make a discussion and learn from each other. It makes each student relaxed. They neednt worry about making mistakes. It can arouse students to think and to say what they want to say. Study becomes more relaxing and pleasing in this kind of environment.PartV. Teaching proceduresThe time table of teaching stepsStept1 Lead-in-Ill spend 5 minutes completing this step.1). show the poem on the screen, and ask: do you know the poem?
