All Chevening awards cover full overseas tuition fees, as well as providing a stipend for living costs, air-fares, and a variety of other expenses. Chevening Scholars also benefit from a year-long programme of events helping you experience the best of British culture and to make the most of your time in the UK. There are two types of award on offer at QMUL: QMUL-Chevening Scholarships A large number of these awards will be available across all one-year QMUL masters courses. QMUL-Chevening Partner Awards In addition to the QMUL-Chevening Scholarships, QMUL also supports an additional seventeen QMUL-Chevening Partner Awards. These awards are for specific academic departments and for particular courses. (2)How to Apply Applications for all scholarships must be made directly to the Chevening: full details on how to apply are available on the Chevenings webpages. In order to be considered for a QMUL-Chevening Partner Award, candidates are encouraged to place QMUL as their first choice university. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 8 November 12:00 GMT. Candidates should also apply for their chosen Masters programme at QMUL through our online portal in the normal way. Commonwealth Scholarships at QMUL typically cover full overseas tuition fees, living costs, airfares, and a variety of other expenses. Scholars from developing Commonwealth countries are eligible to apply for both Masters and PhDs, and developed Commonwealth countries are eligible to apply for PhDs. (2)Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship In xx-17, QMUL hosted ten Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships for courses in our School of Medicine and Dentistry, recognising the excellent student experience and learning outes that these courses provide. QMUL are hosting a further ten Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships for September xx entry, across five courses in our School of Medicine and Dentistry. (3)Commonwealth Split-site (PhD) Scholarships QMUL has research links across the globe and, as part of these partnerships, has the capacity to support split-site PhD study in a very wide range of research areas. (4)Commonwealth Scholarships for PhD or Split-site PhD Study (developed country citizens) These awards offer funding for up to three years of doctoral study at one of QMULs academic Schools or Institutes. Loans of up to ?10,000 are available for eligible students. For part-time courses, the ?10,000 is split over the number of years that the course lasts. Temporary absences from the UK, such as travel, will not prevent an applicant from being eligible. You must also be a new student - you will not qualify if you already hold a Masters degree (regardless of how it was funded or whether it was achieved outside the UK).
