Lets read p.23-24.Step 2 PresentationPractice 1Getting ready Point to each picture and ask questions that require Ss to answer with the target language patterns. T:( Point to picture A) Is he going to the hospital?Ss: No, hes not. Hes going to the restaurant.T: ( Point to picture B.) Are they going to the swimming pool?Ss: Yes, they are. Continue with the rest of the pictures.Using the book Have Ss read the four sentences before listening. T: Lets listen to the tape.Play the tape for A, then pause. T: Wheres he going?Ss: Hes going to the restaurant. Have Ss write A in the appropriate box.Continue with the rest.Practice 2Getting ready Have Ss look at the sentences on the page. T: A. (S1s name) can you read the sentence?Ss: Wheres she going? Ask another three Ss to read the other three questions. Have all Ss practice reading out loud to themselves for a few minutes.Using the book T: Now look at A. Wheres she going? Have one student answer. ( S1: Shes going to the bank.) Continue with the rest of the pictures. Have Ss answer truthfully for D. Provide extra vocabulary if necessary and write the new words on the board. Put Ss into pairs and have them practice the Q&A exchanges.Song activityGetting ready Have Ss look at the pictures around the lyrics. T: ( Point to the swimming pool). Wheres this?Ss: Its the swimming pool. Do the same with the picture of movie theater.Using the book Ask individual Ss to read the lyrics line by line. Lets listen to the tape first. Play the tape and point to each word as it is sung.Play the tape again to have Ss practice singing. Divide the class into two groups. One group sings the questions and the other sings the answers. Then switch.Look, write and singGetting ready T: Look at the pictures. (Point to the first picture.) Have one pair say the Q&A exchange for the picture.S1: Wheres she going?S2: Shes going to the restaurant. Do the same with the picture of shopping mall.Using the book Have Ss read out the lyrics and fill in the blanks to match the two pictures. Have Ss practice singing with the new lyrics. To match the rhythm of the last line, have Ss sing Res-tau-rant and shop-ping-mall. T: Lets sing the song with out new lyrics. Play the karaoke version of the song and have the whole class sing. Play the tape again. Ss sing the original song with the recorde
