First, they have learnt a little English, but because of the lack of vocabulary, they can not express their ideas freely; second, they have a strong interest to learn English. Third, theyd like to behave themselves.The Analysis of Teaching MaterialThis period is from Section B of Unit 2 in GO FOR IT book2. First of all,Id like to talk about status and function about this lesson. The topic of this unit is daily activities. The grammar is “wh-questions” of simple present. And its one of the most important grammar of this book. This period is a reading lesson. We are going to learn how to keep healthy habits and express the daily life. In fact, this lesson helps the students consolidate the target language and learn to use it fluently. And it helps the students practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. So this period is very important in this unit.Teaching aimsAims of the knowledge(1)To know the spelling of some words and usage of some phrases.(2)To learn something about healthy and unhealthy habits.(3)To grasp the main idea of Reading and use the information to talk to others about ones daily activities and how to keep a healthy life.Aims of the abilities(1)To improve the ability of getting information by reading.(2)To improve the ability of retelling the passage.Aims of the emotion(1)To keep a healthy life and time arrangement.(2)To love studying and love wonderful life.Teaching key points and difficultiesTeaching key points1To master the words and expressions in the passage.2To get the ability of general reading and getting information.Teaching difficulties1To recognize and understand vocabulary in the article.2. To know and use the third person singular in simple present tense.Teaching methodsI will use Communicative Language Teaching Method and Task-based language Teaching. I design some tasks to help the students learn.I think if I want to improve the students oral English. I should give them enough chances to practice and I will use pair work, group work to let the students take an active part in all kinds of activities. .Teaching aidsProjector,tape recorder and blackboard.Teaching proceduresStep Lead-inTeaching procedures I will review the expression of time and some daily activities. Then let students have a conversation by asking “what time” and “when”. After that I will show the phrases in 2a and ask them if they are healthy.purposeTo arouse the students interest of study and review the target language of the last classes.Step PresentationTeaching procedures1Ask students to read the article and find who is healthier.2Ask students if there are words that they do not know. Explain some new words briefly.purposeTo develop the skills of skimming and how to gain the information of the articles.Step PracticeTeaching procedures1 Listen to the tape and find the activities that appear in this article. 2 Divide the activities into Unhealthy habits or Healthy habits.3Ask students to read the articles again and explain some important phrases. Show the “s” that add to the verbs.purposeTo develop the skills of scanning and how to gain the details from the articles.Step RetellingTeaching procedures1Ask students to work with their groups to retell the article according to 2c.
