1、Policies and ProceduresRainbow Kids kindergarten recruit healthy children of ages between eighteen-months old and three-years old. We provide daycare services. Please read the following information and guidelines for parents:1. Health checkupPlease go to the nearest hospital and have your child do a

4、st day of school:Physical health assessment record (issued by a certified hospital within 30 calendar days of enrolling in daycare)your childs recent immunization record A pair of slippers (or booties) with soft soles, and two washcloths.One extra change of pants and one extra change of undergarment
5、s.A straw mat, a sleeping bag, a pillow and a blanket (optional)If your child is accustomed to an afternoon formula feed, please bring enough formula, and a baby bottle.Please bring a pack of diapers (if needed), three to four a day. We will help with potty training/ toilet training as well,but plea
6、se be aware that its a task that requires time and patience. It cant be done in a day or two.If you want to bring a toy, please make sure its baby-proof (no sharp edges, no sharp points or anything that might be potentially hazardous to children)3. MealsRainbow Kids Daycare provides daily meals for
7、all the children. The food that we serve to the children has the right amount of proteins, calories,minerals, etc. and covers the basic nutritional needs of your child. No fatty foods will be served, or foods low in nutrients, and no added food preservatives will be used. The menus will be posted at
8、 the front desk and they will be updated weekly. l In order to ensure a balanced nutrition, please do not bring in extra foods unless necessary. 4. Getting ready for a pleasant Daycare experienceTips for Preparing the Baby for DaycareIt is very important that the parents prepare their babies for the
9、 daycare prior to actually sending them over.Before they actually start the daycare services for the babies, parents should leave them with other members of the family or some trusted neighbors for an hour or two daily so that babies get acquainted of staying away form them. Try to start their toile
10、t training so that the are well manage at the daycare centers.Another important thing that parents should know is that it is important to stick to a schedule. Drop the baby off at the same time everyday. This will make the transition smoother as the baby will react positively to predictability. Also
11、 make sure to leave something familiar with the baby. It could be a toy or a piece of cloth to which the child can relate and feel secured that his/her parents are around.Tips for ProvidersAlmost all providers give parents a list of what and how much of everything they should bring in. Providers sho
12、uld follow all instructions given by the parents. Talking things out with parents will also help providers to know the child better and build a personal relationship withthe baby.On the first day of daycare, the providers have to take special care to keep the baby happy and comfortable. This may req
13、uire a completely dedicated attention towards the child. Playing with child and sharing lot of activities also helps most of the times.The caretakers should be properly trained for handling cranky babies. There is a good possibility that the baby will become uncontrollable on the first day of daycar
14、e. Instructions for infants provided by the parents come handy in such situations.In a nutshellThe bottom line here is to be prepared. On the first day of daycare, instructions for infants needs, if not articulated properly by parents to the daycare provider, can result in an unhappy baby and worrie
15、d parents. However, with the proper set of instructions, parents can rest assure that their child is being cared for in the right manner. It also enables the daycare personnel to provide better care. 5. Medication and allergiesWe do not recommend that children at this age take any kind medication, u
16、nless prescribed by a doctor. If your children is under medication, please specify (in written form) name of drug, dosage, and other need-to-know details, along with your name and signature.We will also need a complete list of your childs food and drug allergies.6. HealthPlease let us know if your c
17、hild has had any of the following health conditions/ symptoms: 1. high fever (above 38*C)2. Appendicitis3. tonsillitis4. Acute ear infection5. rheumatic fever6. chicken pox7. measles8. lice9. hay fever10. foot-and-mouth disease11. Asthma12. head injury13. prolonged vomiting14. diphtheria15. asthma16
18、.mumps17. conjunctivitis (pink eye)18.prolongued diarrhea 7. Emergencies: 1. It is our policy to notify a parent when a child is ill or needs medical attention. Occasionally, we cannot contact a parent and we need to get immediate help for the child. Our procedure is to take the child to the nearest
19、 emergency service.2. If your child gets bitten, or otherwise attacked at daycare, please be understanding and constructive. The daycare will take precautions, and make sure it doesnt happen in the future.8. Drop off/ pick up policy: 1. Drop off is Monday thru Friday between 8:30 and 9:00 (your chil
20、d ought to be in our Daycare Center by 9:00 am)2. Pick up is between 16:00 and 16:30. For safety reasons, only the adults authorized by written on the registration form will be allowed to pick up your child. 9. Developing healthy habits and helping your child grow.In order to develop healthy habits,
21、 please establish a routine and schedule for meals and bedtime, and stick to it. Your child should go to bed no later than ten oclock. Make sure that your child gets enough rest at night. Television should be limited to no more than one hour each day. This will encourage toddlers to learn through ac
22、tive play.Establishing the habit of reading each day helps toddlers develop strong language skills and connect written words to specific sounds.Good hygiene is a habit that should be instilled at a young age. Toddlers can be taught to wipe themselves clean during potty training and then wash their h
23、ands with soap and water after using the toilet.The good routines that your toddler follows throughout the week also apply to weekends. On Saturday and Sunday make sure that your child is not overeating and that she gets enough sleep. Bed clothes and slippers that your child uses in the center should be washed once a month.Please talk to your
