2、ul for students to learn as well. many times, some teachers think that it seems a lively english classroom, but the actual effect is not satisfactory. of course,they are many reasons either from teachers or from students. so, how can we improve the effectiveness of english teaching? since i started
3、to write something about the english class in junior high school, i have searched many materials and magazines, papers about the topic. at the same time, the experience of my volunteering teaching in the countryside gave me a lot of ideas and inspiration. i realize that finding some ways to improve
4、the english class efficiency is of significance whether to students or teachers. the age of the junior high school students is a complex age period in physical or mental. first, in physical, the stage of this age is the one of the fastest development in height, brain and its memory system. these adv
5、antages can help the students learn more quick and accurate. but in this period, students are not easy to be controlled any more, they dont follow the teachers every orders like the primary students any more. so, finding some ways to build efficient english class in junior high school is worthwhile.
6、1. the situation of english class in junior high schoolit is an indisputable fact that junior high school english teaching is time-consuming and low effect . we can explain it from macroscopic view to microcosmic view.1.1 vast territory and big population. our country has vast territory and big popu
7、lation. there are different levels of economic development areas. there are also many foreign language teachers, but these teachers are not in the same degree. the development of english learning is absolutely unbalanced on its quality.1.2 unsatisfactory teaching situation the teaching effect of eng
8、lish is not satisfactory, especially in junior high school. there exists the kind of phenomenon, that is, time consuming and low efficient. the students spend a lot of time learning a foreign language, but most students still can not read, unable to understand, could not speak, difficult to communic
9、ate. this situation can not meet the countrys economic and social development, especially the reform and opening up and needs to expand foreign exchanges.2. the reasons of inefficient english class there are many reasons that cause inefficient english class whether from teachers or students.2.1 the
10、old concept of teaching for foreign language teachers in some schools, the traditional education ideas and concepts are rooted in their minds, and they dont know how to deal with the tide of reform. they either lack courage or determination. whats more, they lack a lot of practice. by so-called the
11、quality education, the actual practice is still exam-oriented education. the enrollment rate still depends on overtime, dozens of examination and mechanical repetition of a large amount of exercise training, without any inspiration, not to say innovation. some teachers lack duty, or interest in the
12、job, just go on teaching. that means new ideas, developing professionalism remains a serious problem.2.2 the overall low quality of teachers the overall level of foreign language teachers now in china have been better improved than in the past, and junior high school english teachers education compl
13、iance rates is up to 80.4%. but both in the past and at present, the overall level of foreign language teachers in china are not high. the performance is, poor teaching skills, the lagging behind teaching concept, the low efficient of classroom management and teaching and research capacities. becaus
14、e of the low quality of teachers, the understanding of the curriculum, materials used and the choice of teaching methods are often restricted. according to the survey (raohui, 2010; 2). showed that english teaching more and more adovocate the combination the basic function and pratise nowadays. but
15、there are still considerable number of teachers who are not suited to the new teaching methods. they are still using the traditional grammar-translation method. teaching methods used improperly makes the teaching situational, speaking practice diversity (sunjuan, 2008; 13)has become impossible, disc
16、ount the quality of english teaching.2.3 unreasonable evaluation system with the full implementation of quality education, educational assessment system must constantly be reformed to meet the needs of quality education. however, we see that many schools in the current evaluation system has not chan
17、ged from the examination-oriented education. as for teachers evaluation, teacher evaluation is an important composement education evaluation. according to the purpose of evaluation, it can be divided into rewarding and punishing teacher evaluation and development teacher evaluation (sunjuan, 2008; 3
18、). so, rewarding and punishing teacher evaluation should be discarded , and replaced by the development evaluation system. 2.4 the lagging behind of curriculum lacking systematic teaching and dealing with the relationship between curriculum, teaching materials and teaching methods improperly are the
19、 main performance of the lagging behind of curriculum and the teaching content. the current teaching materials is good, but many are repetitive and trivial, not systematic. too much content and too little time (most schools only five per week) is difficult to complete the required course content.3.
20、meaning of building efficient english class it means a lot about building efficient english class in junior high school from many parts.3.1 requirement of the new curriculum reformation. for our english teaching, the first purpose in the past, is to grasp the basic knowledge and basic language skill
21、s . however, the new curriculum standards set to inspire and develop students interest in learning english, at the same time, build self-confidence, develop good habits and form an effective strategy of learning english, develop self-learning ability and spirit of cooperation, in the first place. we
22、 also set the teaching of oral communicationas the main one. developing students speaking ability can help each student speak english, and apply the knowledge in daily life. in the junior high school, the students pay attention to the class depending on whether they are interested in the subject. th
23、e new standards for curriculum reform makes clear that, we should focus on improving teaching methods and teaching system, teaching efficiency, updating teaching facilities. if we only depend on teachers control to learn new knowledge, the students will easily go out of their mind. so, building the
24、efficient class can develop the efficient learning in class.3.2 the adaption to modern society education. the modern society is a high speed society. the 21st century is a fast-paced and efficient time, asking people to handle all kinds of things quickly and efficiently . so, by the construction of
25、high efficient class, students can improve the efficiency of dealing with their daily work all the same. through the education, we want our students to develop a high efficient habit of thinking and action. the characteristics of the modern society education are to develop all-round development of i
26、ndividuals, combine education with productive labor laws.3.3the inevitable result of the existing education system. as we all know, from all over the world, the number of english language speakers is much more than any languages. english is the official language of 45 countries.the worlds third of t
27、he population speaks english, 75% of tv programs are spoken in english, three quarters of the messages are written in english, and the english computer keyboard. in junior high school entrance examination, english, chinese and mathematics share the highest score of all the subjects, have the greates
28、t impact on the total score. english teachers in junior high school should continue to improve teaching efficiency, build effective english classroom to complete the task of english teaching courses ,enable students to learn knowledge of english as much as possible.4. the four standards to measure t
29、he efficient english class after class, a lot of teachers tend to have numerous uncertainties in their minds about the idea whether it was an efficient class. but they often do not have a fixed answer. they always follow the rules led by experts or the standard of the evaluation to determine the lev
30、el of the class. with the further reform of the new curriculum, english teachers have access to more rational thinking stage - how to improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching and improve classroom teaching behaviour. the pursuit of classroom teaching about maximizing the effectiveness has gra
31、dually become a common goal. maximizing the effectiveness of classroom teaching can be achieved by teachers in the classroom. in the current junior high school english teaching, there is more or less widespread factors that prevent the maximizing the benefits of classroom. for example, lacking clari
32、ty in teaching objectives, lacking hierarchy, lacking research materials, or materials handling roughly. even with years of experience as veteran teachers, they also have such a question: what kind of class effect can be regarded as an effective english classroom. in fact, teachers in the classroom
33、could judge the efficiency of the level of the classroom after asking four questions of their own.4.1 the number of knowledge obtained. junior english course mission is to inspire and train students interested in learning english, enable students to build self-confidence, develop good study habits a
34、nd the formation of effective learning strategies ,develop independent learning skills and spirit of cooperation; enable students to master some basic knowledge of english and listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, a certain consolidated language proficiency; students observation, memory,
35、thinking, imagination and innovation; to help students understand the world and the western cultural differences, and expand their horizons and cultivate the spirit of patriotism and form a healthy outlook on life, for their lifelong learning and development and lay a good foundation.it is necessary
36、 to obey curriculum requirements in advance, to set a clear goal of classroom teaching in order to develop teaching plans.4.2 how much time students takes to acquire knowledge. in teaching practice, students often encounter - english is very important and with great determination to learn it. to lea
37、rn well, students have less sleep and want to memorize words, meticulous grammar, however, unsuccessfully, in the end, the students still cannot speak and write well as we expect. such an outcome was so frustrated that they give up efforts. however, after a period of time, realize that learning engl
38、ish is important, so start learning again . . so back and forth, a lot of time and energy spent, one quite tired, but the effect was minimal. once students fall into this terrible vicious circle, it is really difficult to learn english well, and learning english over time have lost their self-confid
39、ence, and will continue to learn english at a disadvantage. how to prevent and correct this situation? the most simple and effective way is to focus on improving english language learning efficiency. each class is only 40 or 45 minutes, during this period, teachers not only should complete the task
40、of teaching, but also give students enough time to self-digestion.4.3 how to learn the teaching content in english class. many students do regular classroom activities during the class and has nothing to do, which is a more harm than a good behavior. in todays english teaching, there is any reason f
41、or students to sit in a bright classroom, but buried to sleep, indulge fiction? it is a really waste of youth. however, students are students, after all, they can not focus their mind seriously. i want to say that our classroom teachers are not unrelated. so, determine the efficiency of an english c
42、lass level, not just see the students in the class master how much knowledge of english , but also the students how to grasp. if the way is that the teacher teach a little, the students learn a little, the teacher teacher teach more, the students learn more, or if the whole learning process is just
43、explored by the students themselves, the result of two learning ways are same,but their nature are essentially different.4.4 the percentage of the total number of students achieving teaching goals. according to new curriculum standards, teaching english in secondary compulsory education is to take c
44、are of most of the students, rather than engage in elite education. if most students in the classroom complete the teaching goals, and it will be a successful class. 5. measures to build efficient english teaching in junior high school classroom different measures should be dealt with different ways
45、. some measures aim at the teachers action, others aim at guiding the students behaviour. however, the whole goal is to build the efficient english teaching and learning. 5.1 studying the new curriculum teaching philosophy seriously. new curriculum focuses on stimulating the interest of learning eng
46、lish. the teaching material selection is also more suitable for students than ever whether in its content or form. these greatly enhance the students ability to develop and practice the use of inquiry-based teaching reform, and enhance the daily use of english skills. for the new curriculum standard
47、s, middle school english teachers should pay more attention to the changes about teaching concepts. whats more, they should innovate teaching methods, and become an active part in the new curriculum reform, to meet the requirements of the new curriculum. 5.2 designing the english teaching strategies
48、 carefully new textbooks for the students try to build a full of mystery, fun and knowledge of english hall, through complishing learning tasks to learn the boundless knowledge. according to help students to complete the learning tasks, in the process of learning, students will gradually develop the
49、 way to get information, to deal with the english knowledge, to apply the knowledge in daily life. the most important thing is to identify the difficulties of each class, and to develop specific teaching strategies, so that the knowledge will be able to be more simple.5.3 well-organized learning mat
50、erials a good lesson, students will have the feeling that learning help themselves feel abundant, gain a lot of knowledge. junior high school english teachers should base on the content of books, the students existing knowledge, base on the full use of existing resources, creative use of good materi
51、als from teaching books. whats more, the junior high school english teachers should arrange the materials once again, not rigidly adhere to the established teaching content, from textbooks. they should from the outside of classroom,from the lives look for the materials that can deepen and consolidat
52、e the students knowledge of english, broaden the students knowledge, to understand the true meaning of english from different sides.5.4 developing the interest of learning english. interest is the basis of learning and one of the important psychological factors of learning motivation. however, stude
53、nts are not born to be interested in learning. instead, they should be led to acquire it. for junior high school students, they are in the age of transition from the stage of children to teenagers. their characters are in constant change and the state of formation. they are always full of unquenchab
54、le curiosity about the interesting things. on the other side, they reject to accept the unattractive things. even though they do know its importance,they still dont want to learn it seriously. so, new standards pointed out that english teaching should consider interests and hobbies as a driving forc
55、e to develop middle school students in english literacy development and lay a solid foundation of english knowledge. to achieve this goal, teachers should make junior high school students love english as far as possible. teachers should pay attention to create classroom practice, focus on knowledge
56、which students is interested in. 5.5 create a harmonious atmosphere for junior high school english teaching teachers should pay attention to students feelings, respect for individual differences of students, to create a liberal, democratic and harmonious atmosphere of teaching. if students are inter
57、ested in the teachers of english and its culture, and then learning english has a positive emotion. negative emotions not only affect the effectiveness of learning english, but also affect the long-term development of students. thus, in english teaching should be concerned about the students through
58、out the emotional work to create a liberal, democratic and harmonious atmosphere of teaching. a good classroom atmosphere that allows students and teachers in the same state of mind, resonance of thinking. it is an important guarantee for the success of a lesson. junior high school english teachers
