This thesis mainly talked about images about wind in Frosts poetry. In the study of Frosts poems, some scholars research

22、estions for the further study.Chapter Two Literature ReviewImagery is a very important concept in poetic theory. Ezra Pound once pointed out that imagery is a collective of rationality and sensibility presented in a flash. The three principles of imagery poetry put forward by Pound in 1912: first, d

23、irectly describe subjective or objective “things”; second, do not use any words that do not contribute to expression; and third, use natural phrases instead of following The rhythm of beats; its principles and the conciseness advocated by classical Chinese poetry require poetic writing to be concise

24、 and clear, and there should be great similarities between the extra modifiers and the rhythm of Chinese poetry. However, due to different cultural backgrounds and the environment created by poetic theory, there are also many differences between Chinese classical poetry and western imagery poetry.2.

25、1 A Review of Previous Related Studies in the westImagism is widely influenced in European and American poetry. It is probably the most important movement of European and American poets in the 20th century. Almost all of Poets contemporary poets and later two generations of poets have come into cont

26、act with the theory and practice of imagery. In 1913 Pound put forward the poetic proposition of imagism: First, deal directly with subjective or objective things; Second, do not use words that are useless to expression; Third, as to rhyme, according to the rhythm of music rather than meters to writ

27、e poetry. Ezra Pound, a Western imaginary, published Chinese poetry translation volume in 1915. This collection of only 15 translated poems by Li Bai and Pound the Lasting Contributions of English Poetry and the Classic Works of English Poetry consider Wang Wei. Pounds poetry triggered the translati

This theory divides literature into three forms: drama, lyric poetry, and narrative literature. The author Meiner affirmed the

32、equal value of oriental cultural traditions and western cultural traditions with an equal attitude; defined and interpreted Poetics and Comparative Poetics, enriched the theoretical system of poetry comparison between Chinese and Western scholars and proposed Under the background of economic globali

Shi Zhecuns Modernism made a great contribution to the widespread dissemination of imagery in China.Mr. Cao Shunqing, President of Sichuan University, in the book Comparative Poet

37、ics of China and the West, theoretically analyzed the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western classical literary theories in terms of cultural background, artistic essence, artistic origin, artistic thinking, artistic style, and artistic appreciation. At the same time, they point out that Pounds Imagist poetry theory is based on the re-creation of Chinese classical poetic theory.2.3 Space for this StudyAccording to Frosts research thesis published in China i

43、n recent years, Frosts research has made great achievements, but there are still some problems and deficiencies. The domestic Frost study clearly has reproducibility. First of all, the research on Frost by domestic scholars mainly focuses on a few of his poems. Although Scholars made gratifying achi

44、evements in the study of Frosts famous poems, they ignored most of Frosts poems (he created a total of 442 poems). Second, from the number of Frost research thesiss published in China, the study of Frost in China is not yet universal. The thesiss on Frost research are much lower than those of other

45、British and American poets such as Dickinson and Wordsworth. Third, the research scope is narrow. The study of the metaphor of Frost, the black poetry of Frost, the paradoxical philosophy, and its sources of influence are either not deep enough or almost untouched. In view of this, the domestic Fros

46、t research needs to be further expanded and deepened.The frequent employment of wind imagery is a distinctive feature in Robert Frosts poetry, but critics both at home and abroad have not yet touched upon this aspect specifically. While there has been random mentioning of wind imagery in critical di

47、scussion about nature themes in Frosts poetry, specific study focusing on his use of wind imagery has not been found yet. Although there are some critics who have mentioned or hinted wind imagery in Frosts poetry, they only treat it as a supplementary part to some relevant studies about Frost, such

48、as the issues of his pastoral style, his deal with natural symbolism, his nature theme, and his New England environment.
