2、and tourism.1 . chapter one introduce the tourism and culture of asia.asia is the worlds largest and most populous continent, located primarily in the easternand northern hemispheres.it covers 8.6% of the earths total surfacearea(or 29.9% of its land area)andwith approximately 4 billion people, it h
3、osts 60% of the worlds current human population. during the 20th century asias population nearly quadrupled. asia is traditionally defined as part of the landmass of eurasia with the western portion of the latter occupied by europe located to the east of thesuezcanal, eastof the ural mountains and s
4、outh of the caucasusmountains (or the kuma-manych depression and the caspian and blackseas.it is bounded on theeastby the pacific ocean,on the south by the indian ocean and on the north by the arctic ocean. given its size and diversity, asia a toponym dating back to classical antiquity is more a cul
5、tural concept incorporating anumberof (seeentity physical homogeneousa than peoplesand regions subregionsof asia, asian people). the wealth of asia differs very widely among and within its regions, due to its vast size and huge range of different ethnic groups, cultures, environments, historical tie
6、s andgovernmentsystems.asia hasbeenthe historical birthplace of all major world religions.2 chapter two introduce the tourism and culture ofeuropeeurope is the sixth largest continent in sizeandthethird largest in population. it is borderedby themediterraneanseato the south,asia to the east,and the
7、atlantic ocean to the west. europe is a wealthy continent and is the center of the west and westerndemocracy. europe has been the home to someof the earths greatestcivilizations from ancient greeceto the roman empire. it is also the home to the birth of democracy. europe has also beenthe central poi
8、nt two of the biggest wars in modern history: wwi andwwii. recently europe hasunited under the common union called the europeanunion. this union allows independent european countries to have a single currency and to combine their economic and military power. europe is the worlds second-smallestconti

21、in rangeand the amazon river.prior to european colonization, the incan civilization wasa dominant force in south america. in the 1500s, spain and portugal colonized much of south america. the colonies gained independencein the 1800s with the help of leaders such as simonbolivar andjosedesan martin.
22、as a result, much of south america still speaksspanishand portugueseis the primary language ofbrazil.oceania of culture and tourism the introduce six chapter 6 oceania is a region centeredon the islands of the tropical pacific ocean.conceptionsof what constitutes oceania range from the coral atolls

29、zed country is belgium, followed by austria,sweden,the united kingdom and the netherlands. among all kinds of globalization, cultural globalization is very important as it can changethe mind of thinking. cultural globalization refers to the transmission of ideas,meaningsandvaluesacrossnational borde
30、rs.this processis marked by the spreadof commodities and ideologies, which becomestandardizedaroundtheworld. mass consumption servesasafacilitator between different people and cultures around the globe as a result of the exponential growth of the human population. through technological advancement,
31、culture hasbeen moving beyond borders and boundaries, transforming through locations thesharedmeaningsof culture. through the processof ultimately another to culture one of valuesand ideasthesharing leadsto an inter-connectednessbetweenvarious populations from diverse cultures. according to inda and
32、 rosaldo, globalization refers to the intensification of connectionswithin the global, regional, and local level. theseaspectsof social life contain multidimensional processesthat arequite complex. to betterunderstandthe complexity of culture, stuart hall defines it asthe processof sharing meaningsi
33、n society. culture used to be confined to local regions in premodern society, but technological advancesnow allow usto tear down the barriers of time and space.today in modern society cultures move freely from the most remoteareasin the world to the biggest cities. acculturation or the mixing of cul
34、tures in modernsociety is commonly seenin many countries from the west. the domination of a culture overanothercan be referred to as colonial imperialism;whichgreatlyimpactsourunderstandingof globalization. cultural globalization thus modifies the meaning given to a representationby a particular cul
35、ture, and gives it the dominant cultures own meaning. jan nederveen pietersebelieves that globalization should be viewed as a long term historical process.3 he conceived globalization as a human integration and hybridization, arguing that it is possible to detectcultural mixing acrosscontinents and
