2、r High School. Today, I feel honored to have the chance to share my ideas with you on how to describe the first impression of someone. In other words, students are guided to describe people independently and efficiently.My teaching plan includes 8 sections. They are teaching material analysis and st
3、udent analysis, teaching objectives, teaching emphasis, teaching difficulties, teaching methods, teaching aids, teaching procedures and blackboard design.Section 1: Teaching material analysis and student analysis1. Teaching material analysisThis lesson is from Unit 13 of Module 5 Beijing Normal Univ
4、ersity Edition. First of all, Id like to talk about my understanding about this lesson. This period bridges input and output. The topic of this unit is people, so it is important to learn how to describe people esp. someone you met for the first time. 2. Student analysisIn this unit, students have l
5、earned key words to describe people in warm-up, and useful expressions for personalities in Lesson 2. They have also learned how to make guesses about people. So they have some basic knowledge of describing people. However, to the students of rural areas, writing is a headache to most of them, espec
6、ially how to organize a passage and write out a readable composition.Section 2: Teaching objectives1. Knowledge objective:(1)To consolidate the key words of describing people.(2)To learn 4W1H for narrative.(3)To learn the tenses for describing the first impression of someone.2Skills objective:(1)To

Teaching methods In this topic, I will use task-based language teaching as the main teaching approaches. I design some tasks to h
11、elp the students learn. I think if I want to improve the students writing, I should give them enough chance to practice. 2. Learning strategiesI will employ role-play, pair work and group work to let students take an active part in all kinds of activities. That is “Learning by doing, learning by usi
12、ng”. Let the students be the masters of the class teaching, thus, student-centered teaching method is well shown. 3. Learning strategies Learning English is to use it, so I will use pictures, the sample text and repeat the useful expressions for students to express themselves about someone they met

There are when, where, who, what and how.The purpose of the task is to develop the skill of scan and understand the structure of describing the first impression of someone.Task 3: Group work1. Scan the text and answer the following 6 questions.

Being poor at English, I was frightened to speak English in the past years. My English ability stayed un
44、der basic level, not to mention to speak with foreigners. I never thought I could speak English with foreigners without fear. Was it a dream that I was able to speak in English? It was a turning point until I encountered a foreigner, who was my first native English teacher.One day, our office had a
45、newcomer, who worked as an instructor. He was not that similar to us since he was from Australia. He worked part time job at our office, so he became one colleague of mine. His work involved in teaching us English and assisting us concerning English problems. I remembered that the first time I parti
46、cipated in his class, I felt very nervous. I was not confident because of my English deficiency. When he asked me to introduce myself, I blushed and became silent, struggling to say something in a very slow way. At that moment, I seemed to hear my strong heartbeat and I also wondered if other people
47、 could hear it as well. The feeling was just like I took roller coaster. After responding to his answers, a lot of my brain cells were killed a lot. Although I did not do a good job, he was still patient with a big smile and then praised me. I was touched by his kindness. Since we could meet each ot
48、her almost every day, I had more chances to talk to him. He also tried to chat with me in order to overcome my shyness to speak in English. Perhaps it was not easy for me at first, but all he did inspired me to learn English. I also reduced my fear of speaking English by degrees. Due to my diligence
49、 plus his guide, I have made effort on English improvement. He also sensed my English improvement and encouraged me to keep on it not to give up. Therefore, he has played an important role in the beginning of my English study. Before I met him, I hadnt spent my time studying English. I dont know how important English is. I now learned that E
