5、ht into our design thinking & perspective on process.DESIGN PRINCIPLE 1 Simple is better.If you can simplify your timeline layout, do it. Its better on everyone if you can keep the design out of the weeds, less about details, and more about the broad strokes of the schedule.DESIGN PRINCIPLE 2 If

6、 its not there, add or edit, within reason.We designed our timelines in way that they keep things comprehensive and uncluttered. That being said, it wont have everything you need and does not address every variation that your organization might have, so if you need to add, adjust, or edit go for it,

7、 but do so with discretion and with Design Principle 1 in mind. DESIGN PRINCIPLE 3 Design, over decoration.We visually designed our timelines to look good, but mostly to work functionally well from user experience standpoint. Changing colors and style is good, but not at the expense of usability. Be

8、 sure to keep in mind the functional communication goal of the document.PROCESS PRINCIPLE 1 Use ElleGantt as a single source of truth.If youre using the Elle Gantt timeline, its better to drop all other sources of truth. If youre team is looking at two or three different timelines, theres no way to

9、keep everyone accountable for the same milestones.PROCESS PRINCIPLE 2 Assign a primary timeline owner.If youre using the Elle Gantt timeline, assign a single owner to be responsible for updates. Its easy to make a mistake while using Keynote/, so its better to assign one person to timeline ownership

Maybe its the project manager or producer, or maybe its the person who is most skilled at using Keynote/GoogleSlides software?PROCESS PRINCIPLE 3 Review regularly & make the timeline available.If you want a project to stay on track its crucial to communicate the timeline and expectations. We r

11、ecommend meeting with and communicating the timeline with your team once a week and for the timeline owner to review the timeline once a day to be sure all is on track and to make updates and edits.PROCESS PRINCIPLE 4 Be reasonably flexible.Projects dont always go as planned. Be ready and willing to
