Thank you so very, very much.It is wonderful to be here with all of you.To be in New York with my family, with so many friends, including many New Yorkers who gave me the honor of serving them in the Senate (参议院) for eight years.To be right across the water from the hea

2、dquarters (总部)of the United Nations, where I represented our country many times.To be here in this beautiful park dedicated to Franklin Roosevelt ' s enduring vision of America, the nation we want to be.And in a p lacewith absolutely no ceilin没s有 限制)You know, P reside nt Roosevelt' s Four Fr

3、eedoms are a tGSamiertb ournation ' s unmatched aspirations and a reminder of our unfinished workhoamt e and abroad. His legacy (遗产)lifted up (激励)a nation and inspired presidents who followed.One is the man I served as Secretary of State, Barack Obama, and another is my husband,Bill Clinton.Two

4、Democrats (民主党人士)guided by -Oh, that will make him so happy. They were and are two Democrats guided by the fundamental American belief that real and lasting prosperity must be built by all and shared by all.President Roosevelt called on every American to do his or her part,and every American answere

5、d. He said theer ' s no mystery about what it takes to build a strong and prosperous America:“ Equalityof opportunityJobs for those who can work Security for thosn eed it The ending of sp ecial p rivilege for the 结束只有少数人享有的特权The P reservati on of civil liberties for alla wider and con sta ntlyri

6、s ing sta ndI -戈,living. ”That still sounds good to me.It ' s America ' s basic (sSg常行 为准贝 J) .If you do your p art,you ought to be able to get ahead如果你想尽职尽责,你就必须敢为人先 .And whe n everybody does their part, America gets ahead too如果人人各司其职,那美国就步步领先 了。.That bargain inspired generations of familie

7、s, including my own.It my grandfather going to work in the same Scranton (斯克兰顿) lace mill 鞋带厂 every day for 50 years.It ' s what led my father to believe that if he scrim ped 省 and saved,his small bus in ess -printing dra pery fabric (染布厂)in Chicago -could pro vide us with a middle-class life. A

8、nd it did.When President Obama honored the bargain,we pulled back from the brink of Depression, saved the auto industry, provided health care to 16 million working people, and replaced the jobs we lost faster than thehistorical average after a financial crash.But, it ' s not 1941, or 1993, or ev

9、en2009. We face new challenges in our economy and our democracy.We' re still working our way back from a csri that happened because time-tested 久经考验的 values were replaced by false promises.Instead of an economy built by every American, for every American,we were told that if we let those at the

10、top pay lower taxes and bend the rules, their success would trickle down (惠及)to everyone else.What happened?Except it wasnt the end.As we have since our founding, Americans made a new beginning.You worked extra shifts, took sec ond jobs, p ost poned (延期)home rep airs you figured out how to make it w

11、ork.And now people are beginning to think about their future again -going to college, starting a business,buying a house,finally being able to put away (储存) something for retirement.' re not yet running the waySo we ' re standing again. But, we all know we America should.You see corporations

12、 making record profits,with CEOs making record pay,but your paychecks have barely budged尔的薪水基本上没变化So, you have to wonder:When does my hard work pay off? When does my family get ahead?When?”I say now.Prosperity can ' t be just foraCnEdOhsedge fund managers.Democracy can ' t be just for billio

13、naires and corporations.Prosperity and democracy are part of your basic bargain too.You brought our country back.Now it ' s timyBDur time to secure the gains and move ahead.And, you know what?America can 't succeed unless you succeed.heThat is why I am running for President of the United Sta

14、tes.HereRoosevelt Island,l believe we have a continuing rendezvous with destin命运共同体. Each American and the country wecherish.I 'm running to make ouerconomy work for you and for every American.For the successful and the struggling.For the innovators and inventors.For those breaki ng barriers in

17、have been buffeted by powerful currents.Advances in technology and the rise of global trade have created whole new areas of economic activity and opened new markets for our exports, but they have also displaced jobs 失业 and undercut wages 工资低廉 for millions of Americans.Our political system is so para

18、lyzed by gridlock僵局 and dysfunction 紊舌L that most Americans have lost confidence that anything can actually get done.And they lost trust in the ability of both gover nment and Big Busin ess 大企业 to cha nge course.Now, we can blame historic forces bey ond our con trol for some of this 我们无 法掌控的历史造成了这一切

19、 , but the choices we ' ve made asa nation, leaders and citizens alike, have also played a big role.Our next President must work with Congress and every other willing partneracross our entire country. 20、 against us.At our best, that'sdo. We 're problem solvers, not deniers. We don't hidefrom change, we harneBut we can ' t do that if we gokbtaocthe top-down 自上而下 economic policies that failed us before.Now, there may be some new voices in the presidential Republican choir, but they &#

21、39; re all sing the same old songA song called“ Yesterday. ”You know the one -all our troubles look as though they ' re here to stay and we n eed a p lace to hide away They believe in yesterday.' ll tell you!And you ' re luckyI didn' t try sing that, too, I“ I ' m not a scientist

22、. are?We ve heard this tune before. And we know how it turns ou结果.Ask many of these candidates about climate change,one of the defing threats of our time, and they ' ll say:” Well,then, why don ' t they start listening to thosThey pledge to wipe out tough rules on Wall Street, rather than re

23、in in the banks that are still too risky, courting future failures. In a case that can only be considered mass amnesia健忘症.They want to take away health insurance from more than 16 million Americans without any credible alternative.My first job out of law school was for the Childre n儿童保Defense Fund.金 I walked door-to-door 挨家挨户 to find out how many children with disabilities couldn ' t go to school, and to help build the case for a law guaranteeing them access to education.As a leader of the Legal Services Corporatio法律服务公司,I defended the right of poor people to have a lawyer.And
