Do not dream that one day you can speak English fluently by chance. I believe many people have their own aim, but the problem is, we usually have

3、 many big goals. Though with hard work, we cannot see any progress we make, and it seems that we will never reach the goal, so we lose heart and finally give it up. Personally, I am more realistic, I usually have some small aims that I can reach in my mind and try to work them out one by one. When I

4、 listened to my first foreign teacher's,I didnt catch him at all, everything he said was just like something from another world, I was very anxious but soon I calmed myself down. I said to myself, Try to catch a word next time, dont be lazy. I concentrated on every oral English class, then one d

5、ay, I found I could understand some words, and by his body languages, I even could understand something that he said, Imagine how happy I was at that time.As a student, If you want to learn English well, you must appreciate your textbooks, for they are the best materials you can refer to if you do n

6、ot have the chance to study abroad. I try to memorize words they contain, which are the most basic ones in English. Reading is very important, maybe in a short time, you can benefit from it, your linguistic sense grows, and it will be quite easy for you to speak English. In China, when we are learni

7、ng English, we pay much attention to grammar, many of us believe that the more reference books we buy, the better we can learn English. Actually, I was one of this kind of people once. At that time , I spent much time on my English study, I recited the grammar rules, I did grammar exercises, there a

8、re so many rules in grammar, and they are so boring, at last I got tired of it. I found I even got tired of English. Fortunately, I got some suggestions from my English teacher in time, and gradually I realized that the purpose of leaning English is to speak and use it, not to do research on it.Besi

9、des textbooks, English magazines and newspapers are also very important to us English learners, for it can expand our knowledge and improve our reading skills, I once read a book when I was in school, which was very good for us. It contains many columns: stories, short passages, exercises, etc. I li

10、ke the stories best, for they were so interesting. By doing the exercises, I practiced the knowledge I had learned.I summarized the five efficient self-study the secrets of a foreign language that my teacher told me, and I will show them to you.Get interested. Y our interest in the subject is the es

11、sential driver of success. Y ou can't learn what you do not want to learn. Emotion is an important part of the learning process. If you are even moderately interested in a subject, give yourself a chance. The key is to get started. If you can create some pleasurable routines, you may find that t

12、he subject grows on you.Expect problems and you wont be disappointed.Don't expect to understand things, much less remember them, the first time you study them. Trust that things will get clearer as your brain comes to grips with new information. It is like a jig-saw puzzle or a cross-word puzzle

13、. As you start to put the pieces together, or string the words together, the full picture becomes clearer. The brain learns all the time, but on its own schedule. Learning does not take place according to aschedule laid down by a curriculum or teacher. Some things are easier to learn than others. So

14、me things just take longer to click in. Keep at it, and you will gradually find that things that seem difficult at first, will become second nature with time.Cover the same ground from different angles. Y our brain is struggling to form patterns to cope with new input from your learning activities.

15、Sometimes, no matter how long you focus on one subject, your brain is not going to pick it up. If you are stuck, move on. Then cover the same general information from a different source, a different book, or a podcast, or an online lecture or a video. Try to become a grazing learner, roaming the cou

16、ntryside, rather than a feedlot learner, just standing there in one spot, munching on the same bale of hay. The broader your base, the easier it is to learn. Just as the “rich get richer”, the more you know, the more you can learn.Anytime is learning time. Take full advantage of the Internet, iTunes

17、, and various mobile devices, not to mention good old-fashioned books and magazines. Learn during “dead time”. Listen in your car, on the train, or while jogging. Have your learning with you while waiting in the doctor's office, or listen while checking out at the supermarket. Anytime is learnin

18、g time. Remember, you are learning through exposure, not by nailing things down. It is more like moisture accumulation in a cloud, rather than building a brick wall.Be a multimedia learner. The more varied your learning content, and the more varied the ways in which you learn, the clearer the puzzle will become. Different learning activities suit dif
