1、六计中英文对照孙子兵法三十六计(Thirty-Six Stratagems)乃兵家之经典著作。语源于南北朝,成书于明清,是汉民族悠久文化遗产之一。古人学好三十六计,带兵打胜券在握。现代人习 之,在商场职场生活领域中,古为今用。而三十六计在外国也极受欢迎,今天就来学习下三十六计的中英文表达吧! 第一套胜战计 Winning Stratagems第一计瞒天过海cross ing the sea un der camouflage备周则意怠;常见则不疑。阴在阳之内,不在阳之对。太阳,太阴。Mask your real goals, by using the ruse of a fake goal,

2、un til the real goal is achieved. Tactically, this is known as an 'open fein t': in front of every one, you point west, whe n your goal is actually in the east.第二计围魏救赵relievi ng the state of Zhao by besiegi ng the state of Wei共敌不如分敌;敌阳不如敌阴。Whe n the en emy is too strong to be attacked direct

3、ly, the n attack someth ing he holds dear. Know that he cannot be sup erior in all thin gs. Somewhere there is a gap in the armour, a weak ness that can be attacked in stead.The idea here is to avoid a head-on battle with a strong en emy, and in stead strike at his weak ness elsewhere. This will for

4、ce the strong en emy to retreat in order to support his weak ness. Battli ng aga inst the now tired and low-morale en emy will give a much higher cha nee of success.第三计借刀杀人killi ng some one with a borrowed knife敌已明,友示定,引友杀敌,不自出力,以损推演。When you do n ot have the means to attack your en emy directly, th

5、e n attack using the stre ngth of ano ther. Trick an ally into attack ing him, bribe an official to turn traitor, or use the en emy's own stre ngth aga inst him.第四计以逸待劳wait ing at on e's ease for the exhausted en emy困敌之势,不以战;损刚益柔。It is an adva ntage to choose the time and p lace for battle.

6、In this way you know whe n and where the battle will take pl ace, while your en emy does not. En courage your en emy to expend his en ergy in futile quests while you con serve your stre ngth. When he is exhausted and con fused, you attack with en ergy and purpo se.第五计趁火打劫lun deri ng a bur ning house

7、敌之害大,就势取利,刚决柔也。When a country is beset by internal con flicts, whe n disease and famine ravage the popu lati on, whe n corrup ti on and crime are rampant, the n it will be un able to deal with an outside threat. This is the time to attack.第六计声东击西making a feint to the east and attack ing in the west敌

8、志乱萃,不虞,坤下兑上之象。利其不自主而取之。In any battle the eleme nt of surp rise can p rovide an overwhel ming adva ntage. Even whe n face to face with an en emy, surp rise can still be empio yed by attack ing where he least exp ects it. To do this you must create an exp ectati on in the en emy's mind through the

9、 use of a feint.第二套 敌战计 Enemy Dealing Stratagems第七计无中生有creati ng someth ing out of nothing诳也,非诳也,实其所诳也。少阴,太阴,太阳。You use the same fei nt twice. Havi ng reacted to the first and ofte n the sec ond fei nt as well, the en emy will be hesita nt to react to a third fei nt. Therefore the third fei nt is th

10、e actual attack第八计暗度陈仓catch ing your en emy with his guard dow n.adva ncing secretly by an unknown p ath示之以动,利其静而有主,“益动而巽”。Deceive the en emy with an obvious app roach that will take a very long time, while sur prising him by tak ing a shortcut and sn eak up to him. As the en emy concen trates on th

11、e decoy, he will miss you sn eak ing up to him.第九计隔岸观火watch ing a fire from the other side of the river阳乖序乱,阴以待逆。暴戾恣睢,其势自毙。顺以动豫,豫顺以动。Delay en teri ng the field of battle un til all the other p layers have become exhausted fight ing amon gst themselves. This is the sca pegoat strategy whereby some one else suffers the con seque nces so that the rest do not.第十二计 顺手牵羊 picking up something in passing微隙在所必乘,微利在所必得。少阴,少阳。While carry ing out your plans be flexible eno ugh to take adva ntage of any oppo

14、rtunity that p rese nts itself, however small, and avail yourself of any p rofit, however slight.Attacking Stratagems 第三套:攻战计第十三计 打草惊蛇 beating the grass to frighten the snake疑以叩实,察而后动。复者,阴之媒也。Do someth ing un aimed, but sp ectacular ("hitt ing the grass") to p rovoke a response of the en e

15、my ("startle the sn ake"), thereby givi ng away his plans or po siti on, or just taunt him.Do someth ing unu sual, stra nge, and unexp ected as this will arouse the en emy's sus pici on and disr upt his thinking. More widely used as "Do not startle the sn ake by hitt ing the grass

16、". An imp rude nt act will give your p ositi on or inten ti ons away to the en emy.第十四计借尸还魂有用者,不可借;不能用者,求借。借不能用者而用之。匪我求童蒙,童蒙求我。Take an in stituti on, a tech no logy, a method, or even an ideology that has bee n forgotte n or discarded and approp riate it for your own purp ose.Revive someth ing

17、from the p ast by givi ng it a new purpose or bring to life old ideas, customs, or traditi ons and reinterpret them to fit your purpo ses.第十五计调虎离山待天以困之,用人以诱之,往蹇来返。Never directly attack an opponent whose adva ntage is derived from its po siti on. In stead lure him away from his po siti on thus sep ar

18、ati ng him from his source of stre ngth.第十六计欲擒故纵逼则反兵,走则减势。紧随勿迫,累其气力,消其斗志,散而后擒,兵不血刃。需,有孚,光。Corn ered prey will ofte n mount a final des perate attack. To prevent this you let the en emy believe he still has a cha nee for freedom.His will to fight is thus dampened by his desire to esca pe. When in the

19、 end the freedom is proven a falsehood the en emy's morale will be defeated and he will surre nder without a fight.第十七计抛砖引玉类以诱之,击蒙也。Bait some one by making him believe he gains someth ing or just make him react to it ("toss out a brick") and obta in someth ing valuable from him in retu

20、r n ("get a jade gem").第十八计 擒贼擒王 capturing the ringleader first in order to capture all the follower摧其坚,夺其魁,以解其体。龙战于野,其道穷也。If the en emy's army is stro ng but is allied to the comma nder only by mon ey, sup erstiti on or threats, the n take aim at the leader.If the comma nder falls the

21、 rest of the army will dis perse or come over to your side.If, however, they are allied to the leader through loyalty the n beware, the army can con ti nue to fight on after his death out of ven gea nee.第四套:混战计 Chaos Stratagems第十九计釜底抽薪extract ing the firewood from un der the cauldro不敌其力,而消其势,兑下乾上之象。

23、fusi on and use this con fusi on to further your own goals.第二一计金蝉脱壳存其形,完其势;友不疑,敌不动。巽而止蛊。Mask yourself. Either leave on e's disti nctive traits beh ind, thus beco ming inconsp icuous, or masquerade as somethi ng or some one else.This strategy is main ly used to esca pe from en emy of sup erior st

24、re ngth.第二十二计关门捉贼 小敌困之。剥,不利有攸往。To cap ture your en emy, or more gen erally in fighti ng wars, to deliver the final blow to your en emy, you must plan p rude ntly if you want to succeed. Do not rush into acti on. Before you "move in for the kill", first cut off your en emy's esca pe rou

25、tes, and cut off any routes through which outside help can reach them.第二十三计远交近攻 形禁势格,利从近取,害以远隔。上火下泽。It is known that n ati ons that border each other become en emies while n ati ons sep arated by dista nee and obstacles make better allies. When you are the stron gest in one field, your greatest thre

26、at is from the sec ond stron gest in your field, not the stron gest from ano ther field.第二十四计假道伐虢两大之间,敌胁以从,我假以势。困,有言不信。Borrow the resources of an ally to attack a com mon en emy. Once the en emy is defeated, use those resources to turn on the ally that lent you them in the first p lace.第五套:并战计 P rox

27、imate Stratagems第二十五计偷梁换柱频更其阵,抽其劲旅,待其自败,而后乘之。曳其轮也。Disrupt the en emy's formati ons, in terfere with their methods of op erati ons, cha nge the rules in which they are used to follow ing, go con trary to their sta ndard training.In this way you remove the supporting p illar, the com mon link that

Lure your oppon

This strategy can work on three l

34、evels.First, the ruler becomes so en amoured with the beauty that he n eglects his duties and allows his vigila nee to wane.Second, other males at court will beg in to dis play aggressive behaviour that in flames minor differe nces hin deri ng co-op erati on and destro ying morale.Third, other femal

35、es at court, motivated by jealousy and en vy, begi n to plot in trigues further exacerbati ng the situati on.第三十二计空城计rese nti ng a bold front to con ceal unprep ared ne 虚者虚之,疑中生疑。刚柔之际,奇而复奇。When the en emy is sup erior in nu mbers and your situati on is such that you exp ect to be overrun at any mome
