Even if one uses victims, this storm remains the deadliest ever to hit the U.S. coast. storm path of hurricane Mickey Mickey generated in the western Caribbean Sea on October 22, 1998. It was moved in the excellent atmosphere and the intensity rapidly increa

9、sed to category 5 which was the same as Saffir-Simpson Hurricane. Then hurricane Mickey turned to the southwest and weakened to a limited intensity of hurricanes in Honduras. Then hurricane Mickey crossed the Central America, restructured in the bay of Campeche and attacked Florida. Effects The hurr

10、icane Mickey left a record in rainfall in Honduras and Nicaragua. It also made it the second largest recorded lethal tropical cyclones. And it caused nearly 11000 deaths and more than 8000 people missing. In addition, flood also caused serious damage to property loss which reached $5 billion. Nearly

11、 4700 dead only the second hurricane to reach Category 5. Residents had returned to their homes after hearing rumors that the storm had passed, but soon a surge of water covered hundreds of square miles around the lake. Most of the people killed in the disaster were unidentifiable migrant farm worke

Initially a tropical depression, it strengthened into a tropical storm later that day, shortly before passing south of the Cape Verde Islands. Further intensification was slow and halted by late on September 7

14、. However, about 48 hours later, the storm resumed strengthening and became a Category 1 hurricane on the modern-day SaffirSimpson hurricane wind scale. Still moving westward, the system reached Category 4 intensity before striking Guadeloupe on September 12. There, the storm brought great destructi

15、on and 1,200 deaths. 16、the economically poor areas in the low-lying ground right around Lake Okeechobee. Around 75% of the fatalities were from migrant farm workers, most of whom were black. Black workers did most of the cleanup, and the few caskets available for burials were mostly used for the bodies of whites; other bo

17、dies were either burned or buried in mass graves. Burials were segregated, and the only mass gravesite to receive a memorial contained only white bodies.
