2、 my topic is What are you doing for vacation My lesson consists of 8 aspects, they are the analysis o the teaching material, the analysis of the students, the analysis of the teaching aims, the analysis of the key and difficult points, the analysis of teaching and study method, the analysis of the t

3、eaching procedures, the analysis of the blackboard design. Analysis of the teaching materialFirstly, lets come to the analysis of the teaching material. This lesson is a new unit. The topic of this unit is about vacation plans. It is from the PEP English book of junior high school, the first semeste

4、r of grade 8, Unit 3. Students will learn some new words and some sentences pattern which can be used to express their future plans with others in their daily life. Analysis of the studentsAfter analysis of teaching material, please allow me to talk about my students. My students are in grade 8. The

5、y have learnt English for many years, so they have get some basic skills of learning English. However, their listening and speaking abilities still need to be improved. So the teacher should provide them with more chances to practice listening and speaking. Analysis of the teaching aimsThe next part

6、 is the analysis of teaching aims. I set three aims according to the New Curriculum Standard in English.The first one is knowledge aims:Students can know some new words such as hiking, far away, postcard, and master the sentences pattern“ What are you doing for vacation? When are you going? How long

7、 are you staying?”The second one is ability aim:Students can talk about their future plans in English freely, and their listening and speaking abilities can be improved.The last one is emotional aims:Through group work, students cooperative consciousness; Trough vacation, their enthusiasm for the lo

8、cal culture can be deepened. Analysis of the key and difficult pointsBy the analysis above, I set my key and difficult points as follows:The key points: Learn to talk about future plans and master the target words and sentences pattern.The difficult points: How to express their future plans using th

9、e sentences pattern flexibly. Analysis of teaching and study methodsThe following part is the analysis of teaching and study methods. I will use Multi-media teaching method, Situational teaching method and Task based teaching method during my class. Analysis of the teaching proceduresNow, lets come

10、to the most important part of my lesson, teaching procedures. This lesson is divided into 5 steps, they are greeting and lead in, pre-listening, while-listening, post-listening, summary and homework.Step 1 Greeting and lead inAfter greeting the students, I lead in the new lesson by a question. I wil

11、l do like this: “Hello, everyone, Im very glad to see you again. What are you doing now?” They will answer: “ We are having an English class now.” I keep on asking: “ Tomorrow is Saturday, so what are you doing tomorrow?” They answer: “ We are staying at home.” Then I lead them to my new class: “ So

12、 what about your vacation? What are you doing for vacation?” This time, they may have different answers like : I am going to swimming/go shoppingThrough asking and answering, my class atmosphere will be warmed and I can move to the new lesson naturally.Step 2 Pre-listeningThen it comes to the pre-li

13、stening, in this stage, I will show the target conversation in book, tell students the conversation is about Toney and Lin Huis vacation plans, and ask them to predict what Toney and Lin Hui are doing for their vacation. They may answer: “Maybe they are going to travel” When I ask where they think T

14、oney and Lin Hui are going for travel, they may have different answers such as Beijing, Japan or any other places.Through this step, students can have a preliminary understanding on the listening material, and can also arouse their interests in next step.Step 3 While-listeningIn this step, firstly,

15、I will play the record, make students listen and complete the following table, and ask some student to the blackboard and write down the answer he hears. The table is like this:Secondly, I ask students to listen to the tape again, and check the answers: Toney is going to Hong Kong and he is staying

16、there for 4 days; Lin Hui is going to Tibet, and he is going to hiking there. And then, I will explain the new words: hiking; postcard; far away. Lead students to read after meThirdly, I play the tape for the third time, this time, ask students to read after the tape and pay more attention to the pr

17、onunciation and do the imitation.Through listening to the tape for three times, students can understanding the meaning of this listening material better. Also, they can master the target language: “ be going to” firmly.Step 4 Post-listeningIn this section, I will organize a pair work, make students

18、work with their partner, write a short conversation about their own vacation plans, and then invite some groups to share their performance.The purpose of this activity is to improve students speaking ability. Through writing and performing their conversation, they will understand the usage of the basic structure “ be going to”Step 5 Summary and homeworkAt the end of my class, I make a summary and present the homework.Summary: Ask students to think about what we have learned t
