4、es of EconomicsCourse Description: This subject is one of the 24 subjects of Sino-Australia Cooperation Project and is conducted after students have finished the 16 basic courses. This subject considers Global Business management from the perspective of the manager or employee who is or will be comp
5、eting in the international marketplace. The subject identifies the major similarities and differences between doing business domestically and doing business internationally. It develops the more macro, general issues, before moving on to explore the more micro, specific areas that managers face on a
6、 regular basis.Having successfully completed this subject, students should:· be able to discuss theories of strategic management to a Global enterprise; · be able to analyse and discuss strategies for Global business operations;· be able to explain the major forms of international bus

It provides an introductory definition and explanation of some of the basic international business terminology, such as importing, exporting, and Multinational Corporation. It identifies and discuss the causes of globalization. And fi
17、nally, it considers the major centers of international business and analyses existing patterns of trade.Topic 2 Global MarketsTopic 2 explores the legal, political, and technological environment within which international businesses operate. The topic begins with a discussion of the different types
18、of legal systems international companies may encounter. It goes on to discuss the way technological environments vary across countries. The next part addresses how firms deal with different regulations in different countries and how they manage political risk. It continues on to explore the issue of
19、 culture and identifies what comprises culture, then moves on to consider how culture affects international business.Topic 3 Global Trade This topic discusses the major theories that explain and predict trade and investment. It identifies and describe the different forms of international investment
20、and analyzes and discuss the role of the international monetary system in promoting international trade and investment. The topic concludes by examining how the spot and forward markets are used in international trade transactions, defines arbitrage in foreign-exchange markets, and explores issues r
21、elating to the international capital markets.Topic 4 Trade Policies and Cooperation This topic explores the issue of national trade policy. The topic begins with a discussion of why governments intervene in the free flow of trade and then considers the various types of trade barriers and how they ar

It explores how nations cooperate to minimize trade restrictions and ends with a discussion of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, then examines economic integration and other types of regional trading blocs.Topic 5 Global Strategy Management Topic 5 explores the issue of internation
23、al strategic management. It begins with a discussion of the basic components of international strategy, and then moves on to consider the strategy formulation and implementation process. The topic also examines the various entry modes available to companies as they expand internationally. It begins
24、with the choice of entry modes, and then proceeds to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each one. Finally the topic explores international strategic alliances in detail and discusses the various types of strategic alliances and explores the benefits of alliances.Topic 6 Global Design and Op
