In the 20th century, the USA spread English all over the world through newspapers, television, films and advertising. Its now the common language for int
33、ernational trave, science, industry and in recent years, information technology and the Internet. But its also important to remember that English has borrowed many words from other languages, either exactly the same word of very similar. It uses restaurant from French , Zero form Abraic, piano from

Many people think that , if china continues to grow in omportance chinese will become as common as English by the middle of the 21st century. More and more schools in Europe are teaching Chinese as a
35、foreign language, in place of other European languages. And tourism puts China into the top 10 countries for visitors. But at least for the next 20 or 30 years, English will be the language used most widely. So who owns English? The answer is everyone who speaks it- the English, the Indians and the
36、Chinese all help make it a rich language. It changes every year with new words and expressions. Even though there are differences in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and spelling, we all belong to the international English speaking world. We all own english.1. Lin looked at the other passengers for help. “But ” he started to say. “But what?” the man turned and looked at Lin. “Im not mo
43、ving.” Finally a man wearing glasses spoken in a loud vioce. “This young man has the right ticket for that seat. You should move.” Lin felt brave. “ See? Please move. Ive got a long way to go.” “How long?” the young man asked. “ To the last stop, Beijing.” “ Im getting off before you, then you can h
