1、陪孩子学英语希腊神话故事千百年来,希腊神话故事一直有不朽的魅力,脍炙人口,百读不厌,在世界各国代代相传。希腊神话故事是全人类的一种绝不可多得的,也绝不可能再生的文化遗产,是全人类一种极其宝贵的精神财富,是古希腊人民智慧的结晶,是史无前例的杰作。不论翻译家的手笔如何拙笨,都无法阻止它放射出灿烂的光芒。或许诸多学者至今仍不清楚欧洲最早文明缘何从古希腊起步,但没有人怀疑希腊神话故事的出现是人类早期文明的一种见证或象征。影响人类思想或理念形成的故事书,成千上万;但是给我们童年能留下不可泯灭记忆的书还是相当有限。今天我们仍能脱口而出的大概有一千零一夜伊索寓言安徒生童话圣经故事等等。同这类名书相比,希腊神

2、话故事则显得更为出类拔萃,更耐人寻味。希腊神话故事深刻反映了人类的大智大勇,明辨是非,扬善除恶等高风亮节。希腊神话故事构思奇巧,情节曲折,衔接自然,寓意深邃,用词洗练等特点是历代传奇小说无法比拟的。希腊神话故事中的所谓“神话”其实都是“人话”;其中所提到的所谓神,几乎没有个不是按照人的样子与人的意志打造出来的。天上的或人间的诸神所演绎出来的一幕幕可歌可泣的故辜也无一不打上人类社会的烙印。从内容上来看,诸神之中有高低贵贱之分,他(她)们也有七情六欲,也有生死之恋,也有复杂的感情纠葛,也有嫉妒或争风吃醋,也有任人唯亲与打击报复,也有路见不平拔刀相助;从故事的场面上来看,既有惊天地泣鬼神的轰轰烈烈,

5、sstolesomefirefromheaven-andgaveittoman.Thoughmanknewthatfirewasthepossessionofthegods,theystillacceptedPrometheusgift.Zeuswasveryangryatthisanddecidedtopunishman.HecalledonHephaestus,thegodofmetalandfire,andaskedhimtobuildawomanoutofstone.Aphrodite,thegoddessoflove,modeledforthestatuesothatitwouldb

6、ebeautiful.Whenitwasfinished,Athenabreathedlifeintothecoldstoneanditcamealive.Theneachofthegodsgavethewomanagift.Aphroditetaughtherhowtodanceandhowtoattractanymanwithoutevenhavingtolookathim.Athenagavehergreatwisdom.Apollotaughtherhowtoplaymanymusicalinstruments,andtheMusestaughtherhowtosing.Hermest

7、aughtherhowtospeakwonderfulliesthatmadeotherpeoplehappy.ThelastgiftwasgiventoherbyHera,Zeuswife,andthiswascuriosity.ThegodsthennamedherPandora,whichmeans,All-giftedandplacedherdownonearthwithallthecommonmen.ZeuswentdowntoearthwithPandoraandgaveheronelastgift.Itwasabeautifulbox,closedwithaheavylock.H

8、ethengavePandorathekeytotheboxandtoldherthatshemustneveropenit,orletanybodyelseopenitforanyreason.Afterashorttime,oneofPrometheusbrothers,Epimetheus,metPandoraandfelldeeplyinlovewithher.Shelovedhimaswellandreturnedwithhimtohissmallvillage.Theylivedtheretogetherhappilybecauselifewaseasyandtherewereno

9、troubles.Thepeopleofthevillagespenttheirdaysdancingandsinginginthewarnsunshine.Plentyoffoodgrewonthetreesandcleanwaterranthroughtherivers.Also,sincenobodyevergrewoldorbecameill,therewasnowaytodieorloseafriend,familymember,oralover.Everyoneslifeonearthwasperfect.ThoughPandorawashappylivingwithEpimeth

10、eus,shecouldnotforgettheboxthatZeushadgivenher.ThiswasbecauseHerahadgivenherthegiftofcuriosity,andeachdayPandorascuriositygrewbiggerandbiggerinsideher.ButshefollowedZeusorderandputtheboxinacorneroftheirhomewhereshewouldnothavetolookatit.Shethentold.Epimetheusnottoevertouchitormoveit.Onenight,afteraf

11、ewyearsinthevillage,Pandorawokeupinthemiddleofthenightandwalkedintotheroomwheretheboxwas.Themoonlightwasshininginthroughthewindow,anditmadetheboxlookbrightandwonderful.Theboxitselfwasnotfancyorspecial.Itwasjustacommonboxwithalargelockonthefront.Pandorareachedintoherpocketandfeltthekeyinsideforshehad

12、keptthekeytheresinceZeus,hadgivenittoher.Thekeyfeltwarminherhandandsentexcitementthroughherbody.Hercuriositygrewandgrewasshewalkedcloserandclosertothebox,butthensherememberedZeuswordsandturnedaway.ShegotbackintobedwithEpimetheus,butwasnotabletosleep.Shekeptthinkingabouttheboxandwonderingwhatwasinsid

13、e.Finally,Pandoragotupandwenttotheroomwheretheboxsat.Shecarriedheboxoutsideintothegarden,dugadeepholeinthemiddleofagroupofflowers,andplacedtheboxinside.Shelookeddownatitonelasttimebeforecoveringitwiththeearth.Shethentookseverallargestonesandpiledthemontopofthehole.Shewastiredfromherworkandreturnedto

14、bedtosleepwithEpimetheus.Assheslept,shehadadreamaboutthebox.Inherdream,theboxwasbrightandbeautiful,anditsoftlywhisperedhernameoverandoveragain,Pandora.Pandora.itsaid.Thenshetookthekeyoutofherpocketandcarefullyinserteditintothelock.Assheturnedthekey,theboxbecameevenbrighterandmorebeautiful.Whensheope

15、nedthetop,shewasamazedbecausetheboxwasfilledwiththemostbeautifuljewelsthatshehadeverseen!ThesewerehergiftfromZeus!Butwhywasntshesupposedtoopenit?Withthosejewels,sheandEpimetheuscouldlivelikeaKingandQueen!Sheawokefromherdreamandsatupinbed.Itwasstilldark,andEpimetheuswasasleepatherside.Shejumpedoutofb
