1、PO PURIFICATION AREA START UPPO PURIFICATION AREA START UPCONDITIONS The following conditions must be satisfied prior to PO Purification Area Start Up: Boilers, Utilities and flare system are in service and operating Crude PO Sphere has sufficient PO inventory for start-up operation Iso octane Stora

2、ge Tank has sufficient isooctane inventory for start-up operation EGME supply is available Flare Systems are operational Vent Gas System is operational Waste Water System is operational. PO PURIFICATION AREA START UPGUIDELINEEGME DRY OUTTo begin the start-up of the PO Purification Area will be to dr

3、y out the EGME solvent and establish Iso-Octane (IC8) circulation between the Solvent Stripper, PO Product Column and Impurities Removal Column. The EGME may contain water and the following will provide a guideline to dry the EGME out before start up of the PO Purification Area. This EGME circulatio

4、n is plished by lining up EGME solvent to the Heavies Removal Column (HRC) and establishing an EGME level in bottom of Heavies Removal Column (HRC). Line up bottom of Heavies Removal Column (HRC) to the EGME Regenerator. Pump EGME from Heavies Removal Column to the EGME Regenerator and establish cir

5、culation from bottom of Heavies Removal Column (HRC) to EGME Regenerator. Slowly heat the Heavies Removal Column bottoms and EGME Regenerator bottoms and the Heavies Removal Column (HRC) bottoms. Bring temperature on the Heavies Removal Column bottoms and EGME Regenerator bottoms to approximately 12

6、1 deg C to 126 deg C . PO PURIFICATION AREA START UPNOTE: When warming columns special care must be taken with Heavies Removal Column (HRC), do not line up overhead product to the Impurities Removal Column (IRC) at this time. Ensure the block valve on the Impurities Removal Column feed line is close

7、d. EGME must not be allowed to contaminate the Impurities Removal Column. Sample EGME circulating solvent to determine water content and when desired concentration is achieved then proceed.ISO-OCTANE CIRCULATIONTo establish Iso-Octane circulation on the Impurities Removal Column, the PO Product Colu

8、mn and the Solvent Stripper perform the following. Line up Iso-Octane from tankage to the Solvent Stripper through the feed line. Establish level in Solvent Stripper and build a working inventory in column. Pump Iso-Octane from the bottom of the Solvent Stripper to the PO Product Column. Continue to

9、 add Iso-Octane to Solvent Stripper from tank, so that Iso-Octane may be added to Impurities Removal Column. Establish a solvent level in Impurities Removal Column also for solvent circulation through all three towers. PO PURIFICATION AREA START UPAfter the solvent level is established in the PO Pro

10、duct Column and the Impurities Removal Column, line up the bottom of the PO Product Column and the bottom of the Impurities Removal Column to the Solvent Stripper. Adjust Iso-Octane flow to Solvent Stripper from both PO Product Column and the Impurities Removal Column to control column levels. Line

11、up steam to all 3 reboilers and begin to slowly warm column bottoms to 93.3 deg C. While warming columns special care must be taken with PO Product Column to prevent solvent carry over to PO tanks. Block in overhead product to the Crude PO/PO Rundown tank at this time. Iso-Octane must not be allowed

12、 to contaminate the Crude PO tank. Once EGME and Iso-Octane systems are warm and circulating start crude Propylene Oxide flow to the C5 Stripper from Crude PO. Line up crude PO to the C5 Stripper. Heat C5 Stripper and establish reflux flow to place column in service. PO PURIFICATION AREA START UP Li

13、ne up bottom of C5 Stripper to Heavies Removal Column, bring column to normal conditions.CAUTION! The Heavies Removal Column reboiler is heated by S15 steam, and the temperature of S15 steam may exceed the safe operating limits for undiluted PO. Consequently, the reboiler must only be operated when EGME is present in the bottom of the Heavies Removal Column to dilute the PO, which will normally be present there.
