ABORTtobringtheinstancedown.Mountthedatabase.Restoreandrecoverthemissingdatafile.Openthedatabase.RecoveryUsingIncrementallyUpdatedBackupsRMANcanrecoverimagecopiesbyusingincrementalbackupfiles:ImagecopiesareupdatedwithallchangesuptotheincrementalbackupSCN.Incrementalbackupreducesthetimerequiredformediarecovery.Thereisnoneedtoperformanimagecopyaftertheincrementalrestoration.IncrementalbackupfilesImagecopy

COPYcommandtoswitchtoafileintheFlashRecoveryArea.RecoverthedatafileintheFlashRecoveryArea.Createanimagecopyofthedatafileintheoriginaldatafilelocation.Switchtothenewimagecopy.Recoverthenewimagecopy.PerformingRestoreandRecoveryofaDatabaseinNOARCHIVELOGModeIfthedatabaseisinNOARCHIVELOGmode,andanydatafileislost,performthefollowingtasks:Shutdowntheinstanceifitisnotalreadydown.Restoretheentiredatabase,includingalldataandcontrolfiles,fromthebackup.Openthedatabase.Usersmustreenterallchangesmadesincethelastbackup.UsingIncrementalBackupstoRecoveraDatabaseinNOARCHIVELOGModeUseincrementalbackupstoperformlimitedrecoveryofadatabaseinNOARCHIVELOGmode.STARTUPFORCEMOUNT;RESTORECONTROLFILE;ALTERDATABASEMOUNT;RESTOREDATABASE;RECOVERDATABASENOREDO;ALTERDATABASEOPENRESETLOGS;RestoringandRecoveringtheDatabase

onaNewHostUsetheprocedureto:PerformtestrestoresMoveaproductiondatabasetoanewhostServerparameterfileBackupsServerparameterfileRMAN>PreparingtoRestoretheDatabasetoaNewHostPerformthefollowingstepstoprepare:Recordthedatabaseidentifier(DBID)ofyoursourcedatabase.Copythesourcedatabaseinitializationparameterfiletothenewhost.Ensurethatsourcebackups,includingthecontrolfileautobackup,areaccessibleontherestorehost.RestoringtheDatabasetoaNewHostPerformthefollowingstepsontherestorehosttorestorethedatabase:ConfiguretheORACLE_SIDenvironmentvariable.StartRMANandconnecttothetargetinstanceinNOCATALOGmode.Setthedatabaseidentifier(DBID).StarttheinstanceinNOMOUNTmode.CreateaRUNblockto:RestoretheserverparameterfilefromthebackupsetsShutdowntheinstance(SHUTDOWN
