tothefirstthingsthatcometomindwhenmakingdecisionsorgivingweighttoevidence.
Onewaywecancheckourinternalbiasesandinconsistenciesisthroughthesocial
verificationofknowledge,inwhichwetestourideasinarigorousandsystematicwayto
seeiftheymakesensenotjusttous,buttootherpeople.Theoutstandingexampleofthis
sociallysharedcognitionisscience.
Thatdoesnotmeanthatindividualsarenotcapableofexcellentthinking,nordoesit
meannoindividualisrational.Buttheextenttowhichindividualscandothisontheirown
