教学目标单元的教学核心项目是“地点（Place）”，涉及到国家、城市及所使用的语言等项目。1、通过学习让学生掌握一些著名国家、城市的词汇及这些国家所用的语言。2、通过学习使学生能够谈论自己所处的位置，即哪个国家哪个城市，并能与笔友进行对话与通信。3、通过本单元学习使学生乐于接触并了解异国的地理位置及其拥有的文化。4、学会理解和尊重异国文化。
