1)体现自然英语口语的节奏是JazzChants成功的关键。“JazzChants的节拍揭示了美式英语和传统的美国爵士乐节奏的内在关联。”(Graham，1998)“JazzChants的节奏大大地帮助了记忆”(Hara,2003)，强烈的节奏和富有趣味的对话让学生们轻而易举地就把一首chant记住了，再加上音乐、动作和角色扮演等其他辅助教学手段，教学效果就能事半功倍了。

2)JazzChants能激起学生的兴趣，让学生全身心的投入学习。学生随着chant的节奏朗读、对话、吟唱、打节拍和做各种动作，因此可以说JazzChants和音乐、歌曲一起让学生愉快的学习英语。在纽约大学教授二年级学生时，Graham教授还让学生自己撰写chants，从而创造出一个既轻松又有意思的学习环境，让他们在这样的氛围里学习和使用英语。

3)JazzChants是有意义的语言交际活动。表面上看，JazzChants在某种程度上有些像传统的听说法的句型操练，然而它却没有机械性语言操练的先天不足。JazzChants是有意义的、有趣味的交际性对话，它所使用的语言是真实的、实用的。
