WeallknowTagore.ThisfamousIndianpoetoncesaid,“Lifeisgiventous,andweearnitbygivingit.”Asthesayinggoes,natureisgiventous,andweearnitbycontributingtoit.However,mostpeoplenowadaysjustwanttoaskformorefromthenature.Infact,theydoverylittlecontributiontothenature.Therefore,theenvironmentaroundusisbecomingworseandworse.

Doyouoftenusebatteries?Thendoyouknowittakes50timesmoreenergytomakethemthantheyproduce?Andjustonesimplebatterycanpolluteasmuchwaterasapersoncandrinkinhiswholelife.Thefactsandfiguresareamazing.Sowouldyoupleasetrytousebatteriesonlywhenitisnecessary?Ifpossible,givetheusedonestotherecyclingcompaniessothattheywillbemadeintonewonesandwon’tbeabletopollutetheenvironmentanymore.Sometimeswebecomecomplacentwhenitcomestorecycling,butwhenyouspeakintermsofactualfactsandfiguresthateverybodycanunderstand,peoplebecomemuchclearerabouttheproblem.

We,asschoolstudents,canalsojoininrecyclingactivitiestoprotecttheenvironment.Forexample,ourclasssetuparecyclingcenterbesidethebackdoor,itisveryuseful.Itisusedtocollectthewastepaperandplasticbottles.Inthepast,ourclassmatesusedtothrowalloftheseintothetrashcan.Attheverybeginningofthiscollectingactivity,itwasnotsowarm-welcomed.Later,moreandmorepeoplewereinfluencedbytheothersandjoinedthiscollectingactivity.Gradually,allthestudentsinourclassformagoodhabittoprotecttheenvironment.Allofuswillnowputawaythereusablethingsinsteadofthrowingthemintothetrashcan.

Weshouldalwaysrememberinourmindthatprotectingtheenvironmentisourdutythatwecanneverneglect.
