tovariousnoiselevelsinthebackground,fromtotalsilenceto50decibels(分贝),70

decibels,and85decibels.Thedifferencesbetweenmostofthegroupswere

statisticallyinsignificant;however,theparticipantsinthe70decibelsgroup-those

exposedtoalevelofnoisesimilartobackgroundcheaterinacoffee

shop-significantlyoutperformedtheothergroups.Sincetheeffectsweresmall,this

maysuggestthatourcreativethinkingdoesnotdifferthatmuchinresponsetototal
