GENERALSPARINGPHILOSOPHY

Stand-byequipmentwillbeprovidedforequipmentwhosefailurewouldadverselyaffecttheprocessproductiontargets(setoutinthebasisofdesignforeachunit)orthesafetyofthent.Equipmentwillalsobesparedwheneverthereisahighfrequencyofoperatingmaintenance;thisincludesequipmentinfoulingserviceaswellasequipmentrequiringspecificmaintenance.Thestand-byequipmentshallbeidenticaltotheoriginalequipment.Thestand-byequipmentshallbeconfigureda100%spareorN+1,asshowninTABLE1.Nmeansthenormaloperationequipmentnumberwhichcancover100%capacity.Thefollowingtableshowsthetotalequipmentcapacityincludingstand-byitem.Whereequipmentisnotessentialtotheprocessanddonotimpactoperations(e.g.certainfilters),onlyaby-passlinemaybeconsidered.
