“Itis…that…”结构归纳总结

现行高级中学英语教材中，我们常会遇到“Itis…that…”这一结构。如何理解这一句

子结构，正确翻译句子，提高阅读能力是至关重要的。现就以下几种情况作一浅析：

一、“Itis/was+形容词+that…”结构

在该结构中，it是引导词，作形式主语，从属连词that引导的是主语从句，在句中作真

正的主语。例如：

1.Itwasrightthatthetemplewasrescued.拯救这座寺庙是做得对的。

2.Itwasobviousthatthematterhadneverbeenpaidattentionto.显然这件事一直没有被注

意。

3.Itisstrangethatsheshouldhavefailedtoseeherownshortcomings.

在用法上，该结构与“Itis+形容词+不定式复合结构”（即“Itis+adj.+ofsb.todosth.”

“Itis+adj.+forsb.todosth.”或“Itis+adj.+forsth.tobedone”）是一样的。有时主语从句也可

与不定式复合结构互换使用。例如：

常见的还有，Itisseenthat…人们看到；Itisknownthat…众所周知…；Itisgenerally

consideredthat…大家认为…；Itistoldthat…有人曾经说…等。

四、“Itis/was…that”结构

这种结构为“强调句型”。使用这种结构时要注意，该结构不能用来强调谓语动词、定

语和表语，可强调主语、宾语和状语，其句型为Itis/was+强调成分+that+其他成分，若强调

成份是人，也可用who代替that。It在句中没有意思，只用来加强语气，帮助改变一个句子

结构，使某些成分受到强调，汉译时可译为“…是…（的）”。例如：

主语）

14.ItisJohnwho/thatmighthaveboughtanewbookyesterdayforMary.昨天是约翰给玛

是一本新书。（强调宾语）

16.ItisyesterdaythatJohnmighthaveboughtanewbookforMary.约翰是在昨天给玛丽

买了一本新书的。（强调时间状语）

五、“Itwasnotuntil/till…that…”结构

该结构为“特殊强调句型”这种结构实际上是强调句型“Itis/was…that”结构的特殊用

法，专门用来强调时间状语，汉译时习惯译为“直到…才…”。例如：

17.ItwasnotuntilyesterdaythatInoticedit.（=Ididn'tnoticeituntilyesterday.）

直到昨天我才注意到这件事。

18.Itwasnotuntil1972thatwebeganstudyingEnglish.直到1972年我们才开始学英语。

19.Itwasnottilleveningthatwelearnedtheunhappynews.直到晚上我们才得知这不幸的

消息。

六、“Itistime…that…”结构

It’stime+thatclause时，that可省略，time可由high,about修饰，从句中的谓语动词有

两种形式，或者用动词的过去式(be用were)；或者用should+动词原形（should不能省略)。

此句型为虚拟语气句型，表示“现在某人该做某事了”。含有该事早该去做而未做，现在去做

似乎都为时已晚的意思。例：

20.It’stime（that）wewenttobed.我们该去睡觉了。

21.It’shightimethatthearticlewerepublished.发表这篇文章是适时的。

22.It’stimeyoushoulddocleaning.你该去打扫卫生了。

七、It’s+the/序数词+time+todosth.表示某人第几次做某事。例：

23.ItismyfirsttimetowriteletterinEnglish.这是我第一次用英语写信。

八、It’s+the+序数词+time+thatclause.也表示某人第几次做某事。例：
