I’vewatchedseveralmoviesthiswinnervacation,butwhatimpressedmemostis<JaneEyre>,whichisadaptedfromtheworldmasterpiece,<JaneEyre>.Aswhathasbeentoldinthebook,ittellsalovestoryinthedepthofsoul,humandignityandequalitythatreallytouchedmeandmetwhatIamalwayslongfor.

Theheroine,Janelivesamiserablechildhood,bulliedbyhercousinandtreatedbadlybyheraunt,becauseofthepassingawayofherparentsanduncle.SheissenttoacharitableinstitutionnamedLowoodSchoolthatusuallyeducatedchildrenbysimplymauled.Aftergraduationfromthecharitableinstitution,sheishiredasahumblegovernessinThornfieldwhoseownerisMr.EdwardFairfaxRochester.Atfirst,shedoesn’tarousemuchattentionandrespectfrompeoplearoundher,includingMr.Rochester.However,withherthoughtfulmindandrespectedcharacter,shegraduallyshowsheruniquetalentlessintentionallyandisfellinlovewithbyMr.Edwardwhoregardsherasararesoulfellow.TheyaremuchinlovedwitheachotherandspendhappytimetogetherintheThornfield.Butjustbythemomentshemarrieshim,thesecretthatMr.Edwardalreadyhasanoddandcruelwifefor15years.Janeisshockedanddecidedtoleavehim.DuringherescapingfromMr.Rochester,sheisunexpectedtoinheritabigfortune,becomingrich,butsherealizesthatshecan’tgetridofhim,tillinlovewithhimanddecidestofindhim.Beyondexpectation,themomentshearrivesThornfield,thegrandoldhousehasbeenburntdownbyMr.Rochester’swifeandleavesMr.Rochesterblind,almosthomelessandnowealth.Buttheystillembraceeachothertightlyasifnothinghaschanges.

Juneissuchanindependentandrespectedwomansothereisnowonderthatshebecomesamodernmodelinmanywomen’shearttoday.Afterreadseveraltimes,thelinesshesaidinthemoviestillimpressivesomuch:

”Iwishawomancouldhaveactioninherlife,likeaman.Itagitatesmetopainthattheskylineoverthereiseverourlimit.Ilongsometimesforapowerofvisionthatwouldoverpassit,ifIcouldbeholdallIimagine”

“AmIamachinewithoutfeelings?DoyouthinkthatbecauseIampoor,obscure,plainandlittlethatIamsoullessandheartless?Ihaveasmuchsoulasyouandfullasmuchheart.AndifGodhadblessedmewithbeautyandwealth,Icouldmakeitadhardforyoutoleavemeasitisformetoleaveyou.Iamnotspeakingtoyouthroughmortalflesh.Itismyspiritthataddressesyourspiritasifwe’dpassedthroughthegraveandstoodasGod’sfeet,equal,asweare.”

“Iamafreehumanbeingwithanindependentwill.”

IalwaysfeelsoluckytoborninsuchanequaltimethatIcangetfulleducationaslongasIworkhard,equallyasanyboysdo,andcanpursuewhatIwantinmylifewithouttotallyfollowinganyone’srequestaswhatislikeintheancientChina.HowfantasticIamtobeafreehumanbeingthatcanhavemyownthought,findmakesmewhoIamlittlebylittleandjustlivemylife!

But,sadly,Ifindtherearestillsomanygirlsregardthemselvesasbelongingstomen,theirhusband,eventhoughthey’reuniversitystudents,thinkingitnaturaltobeagoodwifeinchargeofaman,followingaman’swilling,doinghouseworkforfamilyandtakingcarefortheirchildren.Thereareseveraltimesthatshockedmewhensomeuniversitygirlscomplaintheirowncookingskillsortheirboyfriends,saying“MymumsaysIcan’tcookverywellandIamsoworriedthatIcan’tgetmarriedbecauseofthis.”or“Myboyfriendisnotstrongenoughtocontrolmeandheevenlistentomesometimes.Howcanthiscome!”Furthermore,IrememberedhowangryIamwhenaboyspeakstomeinapridetone:”Thereisnosensetalkingwithyou,becauseyou‘rejustawoman.”

Tobehonest,Ican’tagreewiththisatall.Ifawoman’swholelifeisjustforservingaman,whywouldshegotoschoolinsteadofjustbetrainedforcaringafamilyandservingherhusband?Andwe’reborntobeequal,whyshouldIbechargedofjustbecauseIamawomanandwhycanyouchaseyourowndreamjustbecauseyouareaman?

I’vealsoheardenoughargumentstowardsmeas:”youarestilltooyoungtounderstandtheworld,italmostthesameinthewholeworldthatyourabilityissolimitedtochangetheworld.AndIstronglybelievethatyouwillfinallybeawife,spendingmostofyourenergyonfamily,stayingathomeasitshouldbe”withthefacialexpressionofwiningormercy.CertainlyIknowIcan’tchangetheworldbutIcanchangemyselfandmylive.AndifonedayIbecomesuchpersonasIwastold,thenmysoultodaymustbestolenordie.

Attheendofthemovie,Mr.RochesterwaspleasantlysurprisedtoknowJaneisbacktohim,heholdsherinthearmsandsays:
