IntroductionPaymentisanimportantpartintheinter-nationaltrade.Generally,therearethreemajorpaymentmethods:remittance,collectionandletterofcredit.1.RemittanceItmeansoneparty(usuallythebuyer)re-mitsacertainsumofmoneytoanotherusual-lytheseller)indifferentcountriesthroughbanks.Remittanceincludes:Telegraphictransfer(T/T)andDemandDraft(D/D).AndMailTransfer(M/T)usedtobeoneofremit-tance,butnowisrarelyused.Infact,ininternationalpaymentT/Tiscommonlyused.

2.CollectionItisanotherkindofpaymentmethodsininternationaltrade.Itmeansthattheexporterentrustshisbanktocollectpaymentfromtheimporter.Collectioncanbedividedintodocumentarycollection(shippingdocumentsattachedtothedraftdrawnbytheexporter)andclearcollection(onlydraftwithoutanyshippingdocuments).Theformerisoftenusedininternationaltradewhilethelatterisoccasionallyused.Andtherearetwotypesofdocumentarycollection,i.e.documentsagainstpayment(D/P)anddocumentsagainstacceptance(D/A).ComparedwithD/A,D/Pis
