大学英语四级写作中语言模因探析及教学策略研究的开题报告Title:AnExploratoryStudyonLanguageGenresinCollegeEnglishWritingandTeachingStrategiesIntroduction:CollegeEnglishWritingisanessentialcomponentoftheCurriculumofHigherEducationinChinathataimstodevelopstudents'abilitytowriteacademicpapersinEnglish.Itcoversvariousgenressuchasessays,researchpapers,literaturereviewsandproposals.However,studentsoftenfacedifficultiesinwritingacademicpapersduetoinadequateknowledgeoflanguagegenresprevailinginacademicwriting.Thetermlanguagegenresrefertothespecificlinguisticfeatures,discoursestructuresandcharacteristicsoftextsusedtoconveydifferenttypesofcommunicativeintentions.Itrepresentsaculturallyconstructedpatternoflanguageusagethatfollowsspecificsocialconventionsprevalentinacademiccultures.Thesepatternsarecreatedandsharedbybothwritersandreadersofaspecificacademiccommunityandisoftenreferredtoaslanguagemodelsorwritinggenres.Moreover,teachingstrategiestailoredaroundlanguagegenresarecrucialinenhancingtheeffectivenessofcollegeEnglishwritingclasses.Althoughmanyteachingapproacheshavebeenproposedtoimprovethewritingskillsofstudents,limitedresearchfocusesexplicitlyonlanguagegenresortheirintegrationintothelanguageteachingcurriculum.Therefore,itisessentialtoexploretheexistinglanguagegenresinacademicwritinganddevelopteachingstrategiesthatsuittheuniquelanguagelearningneedsofcollegestudents.Objectives:ThepurposeofthisstudyistoexplorelanguagegenresprevalentinacademicwritinganddevelopeffectiveteachingstrategiestoimprovecollegeEnglishstudents'writingskills.Specificobjectivesareto:-Identifylanguagegenresinvariousformsofacademicwriting.-Analyzethediscoursestructuresandlinguisticfeaturesofdifferentgenres.-Investigatestudents'familiaritywithlanguagegenresincollegeEnglishwriting-Developteachingstrategiestailoredaroundidentifiedlanguagegenres.-Evaluatetheeffectivenessofteachingstrategiesonimprovingstudents'writingskills.Methodology:Thisstudywillfollowamixed-methodapproachfeaturingbothquantitativeandqualitativeresearchmethods.Theinitialstepwillbealiteraturereview,aimedatidentifyingtheexistinglanguagegenresanddiscoursestructuresinacademicwriting.Datawillbecollectedfromjournals,textbooks,andonlineacademicdatabases.Next,aquestionnairesurveywillbeconductedtoinvestigatestudents'awarenessoflanguagegenresandtheirfamiliaritywithspecificwritingforms.Basedontheabovedata,semi-structuredinterviewswillbeconductedwithsamplestudentgroupstogaininsightsintotheirchallengesandperceptionsaboutlanguagegenresinacademicwriting.Furthermore,ateachinginterventionwillbedesignedbasedontheidentifiedlanguagegenresandteachingstrategiesthatcanimprovethewritingskillsofcollegestudents.Theeffectivenessofteachinginterventionswillbeassessedthroughstudentwritingsamplesbeforeandaftertheintervention.ExpectedOutcomes:Thisstudywillofferinsightsintothecharacteristicsanddiscoursestructuresoflanguagegenresprevalentinacademicwriting.Thedevelopedteachingstrategiescanhelpteachersdesignappropriateteachingplansthattargetthespecificlanguageandwritingskillsoftheirstudents.TheresearchfindingswillalsoprovideatheoreticalfoundationforfuturestudiesonlanguagegenresandeffectiveteachingstrategiesincollegeEnglishwritingcurriculums.References:Swales,J.(1990).Genreanalysis:Englishinacademicandresearchsettings.NewYork:CambridgeUniversityPress.Martin,J.R.,&Rose,D.(2007)
