Foranationofpetlovers,Britainconductsasurprisingnumberofexperimentsonanimals
some3mayear.Americaappearstousefeweranimals-just1.Imayear,accordingtoofficial
statistics-butthatisanillusion.UnlikeBritain,sgovernment,America'sdoesnotthinkrats
andmiceworthcounting.JapanandChinahaveevenlesscomprehensivedatathanAmerica,
