Abstract:

TheElectronBackscatterDiffraction(EBSD)techniquehasbeenwidelyusedforthecharacterizationofcrystallinematerials,providingvaluableinformationaboutgrainorientation,grainboundaries,phaseidentification,andtextureanalysis.ThispaperpresentsacomprehensivestudyonthepreparationmethodforEBSDsamplesofCr-Mosteel.Thesamplepreparationmethodologyincludesheattreatment,mechanicalpolishing,andetching.VariousfactorsaffectingthequalityofEBSDsamplesarediscussed,suchastemperature,etchantconcentration,polishingparameters,andmaterialproperties.Theresultsdemonstratethatanoptimizedsamplepreparationmethodguaranteestheacquisitionofhigh-qualityEBSDdataandfacilitatessubsequentanalysis.

1.Introduction:

TheCr-Mosteelalloyiswidelyutilizedinindustriessuchasoilandgas,powergeneration,andpetrochemicalduetoitsexceptionalmechanicalproperties,highstrength,andcorrosionresistance.TheEBSDtechniquehasproventobeaneffectivetoolformicrostructuralanalysisandtextureevaluationofthismaterial.Therefore,itiscrucialtodevelopanappropriatesamplepreparationmethodologyforEBSDanalysisofCr-Mosteel.
