urgedthemtorejointheworkforce.
“Peoplewhostayhomebecausetheyaregettingpaidenoughtogetbyondisabilityareworseoff,”hewarned.
“Theyaremorelikelytoabusedrugsandalcohol.Theyaremorelikelytolivealone.”
Whatawasteofhumanpotential,especiallysincemostveteransondisabilitystillhavetheirprimeworkingyears
aheadofthemwhenthey9redischarged(遣退).
Wecouldsolvethisproblembychangingthewayweview-andlabel-veteranswithdisabilities.AsGadenotedina
recentarticle,66Veteransshouldbeviewedasresources,notasdamagedgoods."Herecommendedthat“effortstohelp
