原因状语从句

原因状语从句一般由because(因为)，since(既然)，nowihal(既然，因为)，as(由于)等连词

引导

1、because,since,nowthat和as引导原因状语从句

(1)because

表示直接的原因或理由，表示原因的语气最强，常表示必然的因果关系。回答以why引

起的特殊疑问句，只能用becauseo

Janeworearaincoatbecauseitwasraining.因为天下雨，所以詹穿着雨衣。

Heisabsenttodaybecauseheisill.他今天缺课,因为他病了。

(2)since

表示对方已经知晓、无须加以说明的原因或事实，语气比because稍弱。

Ulidoitforyousinceyouarebusy.既然你忙，我来替你做吧。

Sinceyouinsist,I'llgo.既然你坚持,那我就去。

Sinceyouhaveseenbothfighters,whodoyouthinkwillwin?

(3)nowthat

意为“既然"，与since同义，但更突出事实本身。

Nowthatyou'vegotachance,youmightaswellmakefulluseofit.既然你有了机会，你要充

分利用它。

Nowthateveryoneishere,let'sbeginourmeeting.既然大家都来了，我们就开始开会吧。

NowthatIamwellagain,Icangoonwithmywork.我既然恢复了健康，那就可以继续工作

了。

(4)as

表示的往往是十分明显的原因，听者或读者已经知道或能看得出来，语气较弱，只附带

说明，比较口语化。

Wehadbetterhurryasifsgettingdark.因为天快要黑了，我们最好快点。

Asyouobject,Tilchangetheplan.由于你反对，我将改变计划。

Asitisraining,I'llnotgoout.因为正在下雨，我就不出去了。

(5)for

for是并列连词，它引导的分句不表示直接的原因，而是用来附带解释或说明前面一句

的情况。for引导的分句常位于第一分句之后，它们之间用逗号隔开。

Itmusthaverainedlastnight,forthegroundiswetthismorning.昨晚准是下雨了，今天早上

地面还是湿的。

Thedaybreaks,forthebirdsaresinging.小鸟在歌唱，一定是天亮了。

2、seeingthat,consideringthat,giventhat,inviewofthefactthat和inthat引导原因状语从句

这几个连词同since,as近义，都有“鉴于某个事实，原因”是之意。

Consideringthathe'sonlybeenlearningEnglishayear,hespeaksitverywell.鉴于他只学了一

年，他英语讲得就是很好。

Seeingthathewasill,theysentforthedoctor.鉴于他病情严重，他们派人请医生。

Inthatsheisill,shefeelsunabletodoit.因为病了，她觉得不能做那件事。

让步状语从句

让步状语从句由though,although,as,evenif(though),however,whatever,whoever,

whenever,nomatter+wh词，等引导。

1、evenif,eventhough,although,though,while引导的让步状语从句

这四个词(词组)都有“虽然、即使、尽管”的意思。evenif和eventhough带有较强的意

味，语气比although和though强。though比although通俗，但不如although正式，都不能和

but连用，但可以和yet,still或nevertheless连用。可以放在主句前面也可以放在主句后面。

evenif,eventhough所接的句子常用虚拟语气。

Althoughjournalismseemslikeagoodprofession,Iwouldprefertobeateacher.虽然新闻业

好像是一个很好的职业，但是我更喜欢当老师。

Althoughheisconsideredagreatwriter,hisworksarenotwidelyread.虽然有人认为他是一

个大作家，但是他的作品读得并不广泛。

Wewon'tgiveupevenifweshouldfailtentimes.即使是我们失败十次，我们也不会放弃。

Hemighthavegivenyoumorehelp,eventhoughhewasverybusy.尽管他很忙，他可能给

了你更多的帮助。

2、as或though引导让步状语从句

(1)表语提前，如果表语为单数可数名词，这个名词不带冠词

Proudasthesenoblesare,heisafraidtoseeme.这些贵族尽管很傲慢，他们却害怕见我。

12-year-oldgirlassheis,shehashadagoodcommandofEnglish.她虽然只是个12岁的女孩,

但是她已

经熟知英语。

Childasheis,heknowsalot.虽然他还是个孩子，却懂的很多。

(2)状语提前

Againandagainashefailed,hedidn'tloseheart.他虽然多次失败，但仍不灰心丧气。

MuchasIadmirehiscourage,Idon'tthinkheactedwisely.我虽然佩服他的勇气，但是我认为

他这样做是不明智的。

(3)谓语提前

TryasImight,Icouldn^liftthestone.我使多大劲儿也搬不动这块石头。

Failashedid,hewouldnevergiveup.尽管他失败了，但他决不会放弃。

总结：倒装是把表语提前；没有表语时，将状语提前；没有状语时，将部分谓语提前

3、由nomatter+wh词和由疑问词+ever引导让步状语从句

由nomatter引导，表示“不管；无论”;由疑问词+ever引导，表示“不管，不论“。这类

词有：whatever,whichever,whoever,however,whenever,wherever等，他们相当于nomatteH

what(which,who,how,when,where),都不能与but,so,and等并列连词同时使用。

Wellhavetofinishthejob,however(nomatterhow)longittakes.

Nomatterwhat(Whatever)youdo,don'ttellhimthatItoldyouthis.

Nomatterhowpurethewaterlooks,Iprefernottodrinkit.

Nomatterwhere(Wherever)yougo,Iwouldkeepyoucompany.

注意：nomatter可以和whether和if连用。

Nomatterwhetheritsnowsornot,Ishallstartonthejourney.不论下雪与否，我都将出发去旅

行。

虽然“nomatter+疑问词”和“疑问词+ever”都可以用来引导让步状语从句，但后者的用途

更广，这类词还可用来引导主语从句、宾语从句、时间或地点状语从句等。例如：

Whoevercomestothepartywillreceiveagift.(主语从句)

比较：Whoevercomestotheparty,hewillreceiveagift.(让步状语从句)

=Nomatterwhocomestotheparty,hewillreceiveagift.

4、由whether...or引导让步状语从句

由whether...。1•引导让步状语从句表示“不论……还是巴提供两种对比的情况。

Ishallgo,whetheryoucomewithmeorstayathome.不论你和我一起来还是留在家中，我都

要前往。

Whetherwelikeaparticularpieceofnewsornot,allwehavetodoissitinfrontofthetubeand

“letithappen”.不管我们喜欢不喜欢一条消息，我们所能做的只是坐在电视机前，“让它过去”。

条件状语从句

条件状语从句可以位于主句前面或后面。

1、由if,unless,as/solongas,弓I导

if表示正面的条件，意为“如果"；unless表示反面的条件，意为“除非，如果不”(ifnot)

Youwillbelateunlessyouleaveimmediately.除非你立即走，否则，你会迟到。

TheWTOcannotliveuptoitsnameifitdoesnotincludeacountrythatishometoonefifthof

mankind.世贸组织如果不让一个拥有世界五分之一人口的国家加入，那它就名不符实。

2、由suppose,supposing,providing,provided,onconditionthat和incase等引导

这类连词(词组)意思相近，有：“如果、假设、即使、在……条件下”等意义。

Suppose(Supposing)heisill,whatshallwedo?如果他病了,我们该怎么办？

You'lldoallright,aslongasyoufollowhisadvice.只要你听从他的劝告，你就会干得很好的。

IncaseJohncomes,pleasetellhimtowait.假如约翰来了，请让他稍候。
