02ThedevelopmentofC-Pop1912-1949The

NewCultureMovement

ofthe1910sand1920sevokedagreatdealoflastinginterestinWesternmusicAnumberofChinesemusiciansreturnedfromstudyingabroadtoperformWestern

classicalmusic,composingworkhitsonWesternmusicalnotationsystem.TheKuomintang

triedtosponsormodernmusicadoptionsviathe

ShanghaiConservatory(themostrepresentative:周璇)ofMusicdespitetheongoingpoliticalcrisis.Manyoftheperformersatthistimeadded

jazz

influencestotraditionalmusic,adding

violins,amongotherinstruments.02C-POP周璇(1918年8月1日~1957年9月22日)职业:早期电影女演员、民国时期歌唱家生平:
