Pleasenote->operatorisonlyusedtoreferencethememberofstructurevariablePointersandStructuresUsestructurepointer,butnotstructurevariableitself,astheargumentoffunctionswillbemoreefficient.Anotheradded-valueisyoucanmodifythevalueofstructurevariablewithinthefunctionastheargumentispointertype.Example1DynamicMemoryAllocationSometimesweneedtoallocatememorydynamicallyduringtheexecutionoftheprogram.Functionmallocisusedhere.

void*malloc(unsignedintsize); (needheaderstdlib.h)mallocreturnstheaddressifallocationissuccessful.ItwillreturnNULLiffailed.DynamicMemoryAllocationPleasenotethereturntypeofmallocfunctionisvoid*,youneedtocastittoanyotherpointertypeasneeded. int*p; p=(int*)malloc(4); //p=(int*)malloc(sizeof(int)); *p=2; free(p);FreeAllocatedMemoryYoumustfreeallthememoryyousetasidedynamicallybeforetheprogramend.Functionfreeisusedhere.
