Thespecificationdefinesthecommunicationprotocol,messageformats,anddatastructuresthatareusedtoexchangeinformationbetweenthefielddevicesandtheFDTtool.ItspecifieshowthedevicesshouldcommunicateusingtheCLIandHTMLinterfaces,includingthesyntaxandsemanticsofthecommandsandresponses.
