5W(what,who,when,where,why)要素。
(2023春·湖南郴州·高二嘉禾县第一中学校考阶段练习)OneofthemosttouchingstoriesofOlympictriumph(成就)—oneyoumightneverhaveheardbefore—isthatofweightliftingchampionOscarFigueroa.Overthecourseofhisathleticcareer,the40-year-oldhashadthechancetocompeteintheOlympicGamesfourdifferenttimes.Thosecompetitionscameplentyofheartbreakanddisappointment,beforehefinallygothisvictory.Inthe2004OlympicGames,Figueroa’sfirstappearance,hehadaless-than-perfectperformancebutwasstillabletoswingafifth-placefinish.Helookedforwardtothe2008BeijingOlympicGamesasawaytoredeemhimself.Unfortunately,justtwoweeksbeforethebigevent,heendedupwithahandinjury.ThisinjurysethimbackseverelyinhisweightliftingandendedupcostinghimthecompetitionBytheLondonOlympicGamesin2012,Figueroacamebackreadierthanever.Hehadanincrediblerunthatyearandtookhomethesilvermedal.Butinspiteofallhe’dalreadyexperienced,hestillaimedhigher.In2016,heheadedtoRiotoearnthehighestprize—andclaimthatprizehedid!Afterhisfinallift,knowingjusthowincrediblehisperformancehadbeen,Figueroafelltothegroundintears.Inafewmoments,hetookoffhisshoesandputthemorthestage,symbolizinghisdecisiontofinallyretirefromhistimeasanOlympian.Amazinglyenough,hetookhomethegoldthatyear!Nomatterhowhardhefell,henevergaveup,servingasapowerfulexampleofhope,perseverance,anddetermination.Now,hecanofficiallysayheisthefirstColombianmantohaveevertakenhomethegoldinhiscategory.“IwassolowinBeijing,andIamsohighhere,”hetoldIWFatthe2016Olympics.”It’s22yearssinceIstartedandnowisthetimetoretire...ButIamfullofemotion—it’sasthoughIwasliftingforthewholecountry,andthosetearswereforallofColombia.”1.Whichcanreplacetheunderlinedword“redeem”inparagraph2?A.forgive B.thank C.prove D.abandon2.WhendidFigueroawinthegoldmedal?A.In2004 B.In2016 C.In2008.
