1Scope
Thisstandardcontainsemissionrequirementsforparts,components,semi-finishedproducts,andmaterialsinthevehicleinteriorandluggagecompartmentaswellasforpartsthatcomeintocon-tactwithairflowingintothevehicleinterior.
Thevehicleinteriorincludesallparts,components,semi-finishedproducts,andmaterialsthatareinstalledinsidethepassengercompartmentorluggagecompartmentstartingfromthemetalskininward.
Duetodifferingprocurementandqualificationprocesses,theapplicationprofilesmaydifferbe-tweenBrandGroups.TherequirementscontainedinthisstandardapplytotheBrandGroups„Core“and„Progressive“.
TheBrandGroup„SportLuxury“hasrequirementsthatdifferfromthisstandard.Thesediffering
requirementsmustbeagreeduponwithpurchasingbrandfromtheBrandGroup„SportLuxury“.Carry-overparts(COPs)inprojectsoutsidetheBrandGroup„SportLuxury“mustadditionallyfulfilltherequirementprofileofthisstandard.

Testlaboratoriescanobtainthequalification(acceptance)bysuccessfullytakingpartintheemis-sionroundrobintest,whichisregularlyperformedintheGroup.
Ifthereisevidenceofincorrectevaluations/measurements(>3cases)byaqualifiedlaboratory,thebranddepartmentforvehicleinterioremissionsresponsiblefortheroundrobintestcanman-dateare-qualificationorrevokethequalificationoftheaffectedlaboratory.
Theresultsofthetestmethodsandregulationslistedbelowforindividualpartsofthevehicleinteri-or,withthelimitsindicatedherein,arenotsuitedforthispurpose:
–Makingestimationsregardinganadverseeffectofthesubstancesemittedbythepartonthehealthofvehicleoccupants
–Servingasthebasisforestimatingtheconcentrationsthatmaybefoundinthevehicleinteriorwhenavehicleisstationary,beingdriven,orinanystatesimilartothatofvehicleoperation
Thelimitsarebasedontechnicallyfeasiblevalues,withthegoalofkeepingthesumofdetermina-bleconcentrationsinthevehicleaslowaspossible.
NOTE1:Basedonexperience,ifthelimitsofthisstandardareadheredto,itcanbeassumedthatcountry-specificrequirementsarealsometinthewholevehicle.

Transportation,packaging,andstorageofthespecimensdesignatedforemissiontestsmustbedesignedtopreventcross-contamination.

Forpaintmaterialtests,anoriginalsubstrate(samematerialasfortheapplication)withathicknessof(2,0±0,2)mmisusedthathasbeencoatedwiththepaintinthespecifiedthickness.
Theapplicationprocessanddryingprocessmustbeidenticaltothoseusedintheoriginalapplica-tion.
Theemissionbehaviorofthepreparedpartisexamined.Inordertodeterminetheproportionofthepaintfilminthetestresult,themeasuredvalueofthesubstratemustbesubtractedfromthatofthewholepart.
Forthispurpose,anunpaintedsubstratepartofthesamethicknessthathasbeensubjectedtothesameconditionsasthepaintedpart(thedryingprocessinparticular)ismeasured.
