modeledontheaviationindustrytoimprovesafety.Patientsareexposingharmful

experiencesandmobilizingontheInternet.Somedoctorsarehumanizingtheproblemby

talkingpubliclyaboutmistakestheycommitted,defyingthepervasivefearoflawsuits

andprofessionalshame.Andhospitalsarecreatingeducationalprogramsfbrstaff.

Harvard'sInstituteforProfessionalismandEthicalPracticedevelopedaninteractive

workshopfocusedonthedifficultconversationsthatariseaftermistakesoccur;morethan

500doctors,nurses,andotherspecialistshavebeentrainedsofar,andtheprogramis
