codeandreferencesofmanuscripts,(oguidereviewerstowardmoreconstructivefeedback,andtopolishtheir
manuscripts.SomenewwebsitesevenofferentireAlcreatedreviewswithoneclick,claimingtoassessapaper's
qualityandoriginality.Onestudyofpeerreviewreportsin2024foundthatbetween7%and17%ofthesereports
showedevidenceofchangesbeyondspellcheckingorminorupdatestothetextbyLLMs.
However,thereareconcernsaboutthereliabilityofAIinunderstandingplexscientificconceptsandmaking
