FreyaWomersleynotedthattheapproachofsharkstoheavyshippinglanessuggestsaconsiderable
numberofdeadlycollisions.However,theexactdeathnumbersremainunknownbecause,unlikemarine
mammals,deadsharkssinkandrarelywashashore,leadingtoanunderestimateoftheproblem.
Withglobalshippingpotentiallyincreasingbyupto1,200%by2050,expertsstresstheurgencyof
