relatedvideoby21%.Moreover,weinvestigatedtheeffectofuninterruptedversus
interruptedvideoconsumption.Onegroupcompletedtwoworktasksthenwatchedtwo
videos,whileanotheralternatedbetweentasksandvideos.Theuninterruptedviewerswere
22%morelikelytowatchanothervideothanthosewhoalternated.
Clearly,smalldetailsintheorderandtypesofcontentweconsumesignificantly
influenceourdecisiontocontinuewithsimilarcontent.Butwhatdrivesthiseffect?Prior
researchsuggeststhatthetwofactorsbothincreasetheaccessibilityofsimilarmedia,which
referstohowfamiliarthecontentfeels.Whensomethingfeelsmoreaccessible,it'seasierto
process,leadingustoanticipatethatwewillenjoyitmore.Thisalsoexplainswhyappslike
TikTokorInstagramaresodistractingatworkandkeepviewersengagedwitheasily
