CognitiveObjective:Enablestudentstomaster30+EnglishvocabularyrelatedtoThePalaceMuseum(e.g.,"meridiangate","hallofsupremeharmony","imperialgarden")andunderstandthebasichistory,architecturalfeatures,andculturalconnotationsofkeyscenicspotsinThePalaceMuseum.
LanguageObjective:Improvestudents'Englishlisteningandspeakingabilities,allowingthemtodescribethesceneryofThePalaceMuseuminsimpleEnglish,conductshortdialogueswithpartnersorguides,andcompleteEnglishstudytasks.
CulturalObjective:Enhancestudents'awarenessandrecognitionoftraditionalChineseculture,andcultivatetheirabilitytospreadChinesecultureinEnglish.

二、Pre-ActivityPreparation
1.TeachingMaterialsandTools
DevelopanEnglishstudymanualforThePalaceMuseum,includingscenicspotintroductionsinsimpleEnglish,vocabularylists,andtaskworksheets(e.g.,"ScenicSpotScavengerHunt","CulturalStoryRecording").
Prepareportablemicrophones(forguidestoensurestudentscanhearclearly),English-Chinesebilingualsignboards(tomarkgatheringpoints),andsmallgifts(e.g.,bookmarkswithPalaceMuseumpatterns,Englishpostcards)forrewardingstudentswithexcellentperformance.
CreateaWeChatgroupfortheactivity,andsharetheEnglishstudymanual,activityschedule,andsafetyprecautionswithstudentsandparentsinadvance.
2.GuideandVolunteerTraining
InviteprofessionaltourguideswhoareproficientinbothChineseandEnglishandhavein-depthknowledgeofThePalaceMuseum'shistoryandculture.Traintheguidesontheactivityprocess,Englishexpressionstandardsforintroducingscenicspots,andinteractionmethodswithstudents.
RecruitEnglishmajorcollegestudentsasvolunteers.Trainthemtoassistguidesinmanagingstudents,answeringstudents'Englishquestions,andguidingstudentstocompletestudytasks.
3.StudentPreparation
Askstudentstopre-learntheEnglishvocabularyandbasicscenicspotintroductionsinthestudymanual,andencouragethemtoprepare2-3EnglishquestionsaboutThePalaceMuseum(e.g.,"WhenwasThePalaceMuseumfirstbuilt?").

1.GatheringandWarm-up(9:00-9:30)
StudentsgatherattheMeridianGate(themainentranceofThePalaceMuseum)ontime.TheguideandvolunteerscheckthenumberofstudentsanddistributetheEnglishstudymanualandtaskworksheets.
Conducta15-minuteEnglishwarm-upactivity:"NameandVocabularyGame".Theguiderandomlycallsthestudents'Englishnames,andthecalledstudentsneedtosayanEnglishvocabularyrelatedtoThePalaceMuseumtheyhavepre-learned.Thosewhoanswercorrectlywillgetasmallstickerasareward.ThisactivityhelpsstudentsquicklyentertheEnglishlearningstateandreviewpre-learnedknowledge.
2.GuidedTourandEnglishLearning(9:30-12:00)
TheguideleadsthestudentstovisitkeyscenicspotsinThePalaceMuseuminsequence,andconductsEnglishteachingandinteractionaroundeachscenicspot:
MeridianGate:TheguideintroducesthefunctionoftheMeridianGateinEnglish("TheMeridianGateisthemainentranceofThePalaceMuseum.Inancienttimes,onlytheemperorcouldwalkthroughthecentralarchway."),andasksstudentstorepeatkeysentencestopracticepronunciation.Then,assignasmalltask:studentsworkinpairstodescribetheappearanceoftheMeridianGateinEnglish(e.g.,"Ithasaredcolorandmanyeaves.").
HallofSupremeHarmony:FocusonintroducingthearchitecturalfeaturesoftheHallofSupremeHarmony(e.g.,"TheHallofSupremeHarmonyisthelargestandmostimportanthallinThePalaceMuseum.Itwasbuiltwithvaluablewoodandhasamagnificentroof.").Invitestudentstotouchthestonerailingsaroundthehall(undertheguidanceoftheguide)anduseEnglishtoexpresstheirfeelings(e.g.,"It'ssmooth.").

Duringthelunchbreak,volunteerstaketheinitiativetocommunicatewithstudentsinEnglish,suchasaskingabouttheirfavoritescenicspotsinthemorning("Whichscenicspotdidyoulikethemostthismorning?")anddiscussingtheinterestingthingstheyfound("Whatinterestingthingsdidyoufindduringthetour?").ThishelpsstudentspracticeEnglishoralcommunicationinarelaxedatmosphere.

ScenicSpotScavengerHunt:Dividestudentsintogroupsof4-5.EachgroupisgivenatasklistwithEnglishdescriptionsof5-6scenicspotsorculturalrelics(e.g.,"Ahallwithabigbronzetripodinfrontofit").Thegroupsneedtofindthecorrespondingscenicspotsorculturalrelicsinthespecifiedarea,takephotos(wherepermitted),andwrite2-3Englishsentencestodescribethem.Theguideandvolunteerspatrolaroundtoprovidehelpandguidance.Aftertheactivity,eachgroupsendsarepresentativetosharetheirfindingsinEnglish.
EnglishCulturalInterview:Eachstudentisgivenaninterviewworksheetwith3-5Englishquestions(e.g.,"WhatdoyouthinkisthemostinterestingpartofThePalaceMuseum'sculture?""HowcanweprotecttheculturalrelicsinThePalaceMuseum?").Studentscaninterviewothergroupmembers,volunteers,orevenforeigntourists(withthehelpofvolunteers)andrecordtheanswersinEnglish.Thisactivitynotonlyimprovesstudents'EnglishcommunicationskillsbutalsoallowsthemtounderstanddifferentperspectivesonPalaceMuseumculture.

Sortoutthephotosandvideostakenduringtheactivity,andsharethemwithstudentsandparentsthroughtheWeChatgroup.
UploadtheEnglishstudymanual,keyvocabularyaudio,andscenicspotEnglishintroductionvideostotheschool'sonlineteachingplatformforstudentstoreviewandlearnaftertheactivity.
五、SafetyandEmergencyMeasures
1.SafetyPrecautions
Beforetheactivity,conductasafetyeducationforstudents,emphasizingtheneedtofollowtheguide'sinstructions,nottowalkaroundalone,andtopayattentiontopersonalandpropertysafetyincrowdedplaces.
