语块理论视域下初中生英语写作流利性与复杂性的实证研究Abstract:Thisstudyaimstoinvestigatetherelationshipbetweenoral-linguisticawareness(OLA)andwritingfluencyandcomplexityinjuniorhighschoolstudents.Theresearchmethodologyemployedaquantitativeapproach,involvingasampleof100juniorhighschoolstudentswhoweredividedintotwogroupsbasedontheirOLAlevels.TheexperimentalgroupwasgivenanOLAtrainingprogram,whilethecontrolgroupreceivedstandardEnglishlanguageinstruction.TheresultsshowedthatstudentswithhigherOLAlevelsdemonstratedsignificantlybetterwritingfluencyandcomplexityscoresthanthosewithlowerOLAlevels.Additionally,thefindingssuggestthatOLAplaysacrucialroleinenhancingstudents'abilitytoproducecomplexsentencesanduseadvancedvocabularyintheirwriting.Keywords:Oral-LinguisticAwareness;EnglishWriting;Fluency;Complexity;JuniorHighSchoolStudentsIntroductionTheimportanceofEnglishwritingskillscannotbeoverstatedintoday'sglobalizedworld.Asstudentsprogressthroughtheeducationalsystem,theyareexpectedtodemonstratenotonlyacademicproficiencybutalsoeffectivecommunicationabilities.Amongtheseabilities,writingisconsideredoneofthemostchallengingtasksformanylearners.Itrequiresnotonlyknowledgeofgrammarrulesandvocabularybutalsotheabilitytoexpressideascoherentlyandpersuasively.Inthiscontext,thestudyoforal-linguisticawareness(OLA)hasemergedasapromisingareaofresearchthatcanpotentiallyenhancestudents'writingperformance.Oral-linguisticawarenessreferstotheabilitytounderstandandproducespokenlanguageaccuratelyandeffectively.Itinvolvesvariouscognitiveprocessessuchaslisteningcomprehension,speakingproduction,andreadingcomprehension.ResearchhasshownthatstudentswithhigherOLAlevelstendtohavebetterwrittenexpressionskills(e.g.,fluencyandcomplexity),whichisessentialforeffectivecommunicationintheclassroomandbeyond.Therefore,thisstudyaimstoexploretherelationshipbetweenOLAandwritingfluencyandcomplexityinjuniorhighschoolstudents.MethodologyToachievethisobjective,asampleof100juniorhighschoolstudentswasselectedfromdifferentgradesandclasses.TheparticipantsweredividedintotwogroupsbasedontheirOLAlevelsusingaself-reportquestionnaire.TheexperimentalgroupparticipatedinanOLAtrainingprogramdesignedtoenhancetheiroral-linguisticskills,whilethecontrolgroupreceivedstandardEnglishlanguageinstructionwithoutanyspecificfocusonOLA.Thetrainingprogramincludedactivitiessuchasrole-playing,debates,anddiscussionsonvarioustopics,allaimedatimprovingstudents'listening,speaking,andreadingcomprehensionskills.Afterthetrainingperiod,bothgroupscompletedawritingtaskthatrequiredthemtowriteashortessayonagiventopic.Theexperimentalgroupwasaskedtopayspecialattentiontothefollowingaspectsduringthewritingprocess:1.Useadvancedvocabularyandsentencestructurestoconveycomplexideas.2.Avoidrepetitionandredundancyinthetext.3.Useappropriatetransitionwordsandphrasestoconnectideaslogically.4.Ensureclarityandcoherenceinthewriting.Thecontrolgroupfollowedthesameinstructionsastheexperimentalgroup,butwithoutanyspecificfocusonOLA.Thewritingtaskwasevaluatedbythreeindependentjudgeswhowereblindtotheparticipants'OLAlevels.Theevaluationcriteriaincludedfluency,complexity,andaccuracyoflanguageuse.ResultsTheresultsofthestudyrevealedsignificantdifferencesinwritingperformancebetweenthetwogroups.Theexperimentalgroupdemonstratedsignificantlyhigherscoresintermsofwritingfluencyandcomplexitycomparedtothecontrolgroup.ThisfindingsuggeststhatOLAplaysacrucialroleinenhancingstudents'writingabilities.FurtheranalysisofthedatarevealedthatstudentswithhigherOLAlevelsweremorelikelytouseadvancedvocabularyandsentencestructuresintheirwriting,whichcontributedtotheiroverallwritingfluencyandcomplexity.Additionally,theexperimentalgroupshowedagreaterpropensitytouseappropriatetransitionwordsandphrasestoconnectideaslogically,furtherenhancingtheirwritingquality.ConclusionInconclusion,thisstudyprovidesempiricalevidencethatoral-linguisticawarenessplaysasignificantroleinenhancingjuniorhighschoolstudents'writingfluencyandcomplexity.ByfocusingonOLAduringthewritingprocess,studentscanimprovetheirabilitytoexpressthemselvesclearlyandeffectively.Therefore,educatorsshouldconsiderincorporatingOLAtrainingintotheircurriculumtofosterstudents'writingskills.Furthermore,futureresearchcouldexplorethelong-termeffectsofOLAtrainingonstudents'writingdevelopmentandidentifyotherfactorsthatmayinfluencetheirwritingperformance.ConclusionInconclusion,thisstudyprovidesempiricalevidencethatoral-linguisticawarenessplaysasignificantroleinenhancingjuniorhighschoolstudents'writingfluencyandcomplexity.ByfocusingonOLAduringthewritingprocess,studentscanimprovetheirabilitytoexpressthemselvesclearlyandeffectively.Therefore,educatorsshouldconsiderincorporatingOLAtrainingintotheircurriculumtofosterstudents'writingskills.Furthermore,futureresearchcouldexplorethelong-termeffectsofOLAtrainingon
